Tertiary Amine-Mediated Reductions of Phosphine Oxides to Phosphines
Organic Letters, 2023The reduction of phosphine oxides without the use of highly reactive reductants represents a safer and more sustainable solution for recycling of organophosphorus compounds. Herein, we disclose an N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA)-mediated reduction via an unusual intermolecular hydride transfer. Mechanistic studies suggest that TMEDA serves

Enantioselective Phosphine Organocatalysis
Synlett, 2009The broad potential synthetic usefulness of phosphine-promoted reactions has stimulated many recent investigations on enantioselective variants of known reactions of this family, as well as the search for new, specifically designed, chiral phosphorus catalysts.

Reduction of phosphine oxides to phosphines
Tetrahedron Letters, 2019Abstract The digest is devoted to the most widespread reducing agents which are used for the reduction of tertiary and secondary phosphine oxides, phospholene oxides, phospholane oxides, phosphonates, phosphinates, α- and β-hydroxy and thiomethyl phosphine oxides, α-aminophosphine oxides. Stereoselectivity of reactions is described.

Phosphine-Stabilized Digermavinylidene
Journal of the American Chemical Society, 2019An intramolecular germylene-phosphine Lewis pair (1) was reacted with germanium dichloride to give in 92% yield a phosphine adduct of a chloro substituted germyl-germylene (2). After reduction of this dichloride with strong reductants like the Mg(I) reagent {(MesNacnac)Mg}2 (72% yield) or Na (52% yield) a phosphine stabilized digermavinylidene (3) was ...

This chapter gives an account of the newer developments on the synthesis and reactivity of phosphine chalcogenides, mainly oxides and sulfides. A series of new synthetic methods for phosphine oxides is discussed, followed by preparations utilizing simple P-reagents such as P(iii)- and P(v)-chlorides, and >P(O)H species.

Tris(n-butyl)phosphine, Tris(tert-butyl)phosphine and Tris(trimethylsilyl)phosphine
Acta Crystallographica Section C Crystal Structure Communications, 1995Single crystals of the title compounds, C 12 H 27 P (1), C 12 H 27 P (2), and C 9 H 27 PSi 3 (3), were grown in capillaries at low temperature using zone-melting techniques [Brodalla, Mootz, Boese & Osswald (1985). J. Appl. Cryst. 18, 316-319]. The molecular and crystal structures of all three compounds were determined at 102 K.

(Ferrocenylmethyl)phosphine, an air-stable primary phosphine
Journal of the Chemical Society, Dalton Transactions, 1999Removal of formaldehyde from the readily prepared ferrocenyl (R) hydroxymethylphosphine RCH2P(CH2OH)2 with one mole equivalent of Na2S2O5 gave the completely air-stable primary phosphine RCH2PH2 as a crystalline, sublimable solid. With [Mo(CO)6] both mono-, [Mo(CO)5(RCH2PH2)], and di-substituted, [Mo(CO)4(RCH2PH2)2], products are readily formed, and ...

Microemulsions with Alkyldimethyl Phosphine Oxides and Alkyldiethyl Phosphine Oxides
Langmuir, 2008Alkyldimethyl phosphine oxides (C n DMPO) as well as alkyldiethyl phosphine oxides (C n DEPO) with chain lengths of n = 10 (decyl), 12 (dodecyl), and 14 (tetradecyl) were synthesized and purified to study how the formation of microemulsions depends on the size of the headgroup and on the length of the alkyl chain.
