Microemulsions with Alkyldimethyl Phosphine Oxides and Alkyldiethyl Phosphine Oxides

Langmuir, 2008
Alkyldimethyl phosphine oxides (C n DMPO) as well as alkyldiethyl phosphine oxides (C n DEPO) with chain lengths of n = 10 (decyl), 12 (dodecyl), and 14 (tetradecyl) were synthesized and purified to study how the formation of microemulsions depends on the size of the headgroup and on the length of the alkyl chain.

Tertiary Amine-Mediated Reductions of Phosphine Oxides to Phosphines

Organic Letters, 2023
The reduction of phosphine oxides without the use of highly reactive reductants represents a safer and more sustainable solution for recycling of organophosphorus compounds. Herein, we disclose an N,N,N',N'-tetramethylethylenediamine (TMEDA)-mediated reduction via an unusual intermolecular hydride transfer. Mechanistic studies suggest that TMEDA serves

Phosphine oxide surfactants revisited

Advances in Colloid and Interface Science, 2016
This review summarizes everything we currently know about the nonionic surfactants alkyl dimethyl (C(n)DMPO) and alkyl diethyl (C(n)DEPO) phosphine oxide (PO surfactants). The review starts with the synthesis and the general properties (Section 2) of these compounds and continues with their interfacial properties (Section 3) such as surface tension ...
