Mussel‐Inspired Molecular Strategies for Fabricating Functional Materials With Underwater Adhesion and Self‐Healing Properties

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This review systematically examines the nanomechanical mechanisms of mussel‐inspired molecular interactions, primarily investigated by direct force measurement techniques such as surface forces apparatus and atomic force microscopy. The macroscopic adhesive and self‐healing performances of mussel‐inspired functional materials, including coacervates ...

Tris[3,5-bis(trifluoromethyl)phenyl]phosphine oxide

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2009
In the title compound, C24H9F18OP, an intramolecular C—H...O short contact generates a five-membered ring, producing an S(5) ring motif. The dihedral angles between the benzene rings are 57.68 (10), 77.80 (11) and 79.48&#

Metal-free synthesis of phosphinoylchroman-4-ones via a radical phosphinoylation–cyclization cascade mediated by K2S2O8

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2020
A variety of chroman-4-ones bearing phosphine oxide motifs were conveniently synthesized from readily available diphenylphosphine oxides and alkenyl aldehydes via a metal-free tandem phosphinoylation/cyclization protocol.

Interlayer Design for Halide Electrolytes in All‐Solid‐State Lithium Metal Batteries

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Halide solid electrolytes, an emerging family of materials, encounter anodic stability challenges that limit their application. By synthesizing Li3YbCl6 and Li3LuCl6 and incorporating a Li6PI3 interlayer, this study achieves lithium‐stable halide electrolytes with reduced interface resistance and enhanced critical current density.

Untying the Knot: A Fully Recyclable, Solvent‐Free, Wide‐Spectral Photocurable Thermoset Adhesive

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This study introduces a solvent‐free, recyclable adhesive that cures rapidly under visible light (400–650 nm) while maintaining robust adhesion across diverse substrates. Recyclable via simple microwave irradiation, it combines high performance with optical and bioadaptive potential, representing a significant advancement toward sustainable, circular ...

Diphenyl[2-(2-pyridylaminomethyl)phenyl]phosphine oxide

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E, 2010
The title compound, C24H21N2OP, was obtained by reacting 2-aminopyridine and 2-(diphenylphosphinyl)benzaldehyde in ethanol. It crystallizes with two crystallographically independent molecules in the asymmetric unit.

Thermal stability of primary and secondary phosphine oxides formed as a reaction of phosphine oxide with ketones

open access: yesPhosphorus, Sulfur, and Silicon and the Related Elements, 2016
We present the study of reactivity of electrochemically generated in situ from white phosphorus P4 phosphine oxide H3PO toward various ketones (acetone, methylethylketone, methyl-n-propylketone). This interaction was found to give a selective formation of mono- and bis-(α-oxyalkyl)phosphine oxides RR′C(OH)P(O)H2 (1) and (RR′C(OH))2P(O)H (2) where R ...

Designing Physical Unclonable Functions From Optically Active Materials

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
Assigning unforgeable “fingerprints” to manufactured goods is a key strategy to fight global counterfeiting. Optical physical unclonable functions (PUFs) are chemically generated random patterns of optically active materials serving as unique authenticators.
