Is the p29 protein involved in the rapid regulation of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (GTP)?

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
It has been postulated that a protein with a molecular mass of 29,000 daltons (p29), which copurifies with hepatic phosphoenolpyruvate (P-enolpyruvate) carboxykinase, forms a complex with the enzyme and stabilizes its sensitivity to Mn2+ activation by protecting critical sulfhydryl groups from oxidation (Brinkworth, R. I., Hanson, R. W., Fullin, F. A.,

Aluminum Fluorides as Noncovalent Lewis Acids in Proteins: The Case of Phosphoryl Transfer Enzymes

open access: yesChemPlusChem, Volume 90, Issue 1, January 2025.
The abundance, directionality and energetic features of O ⋅ ⋅ ⋅ Al Triel Bonds in biological systems have been studied herein combining a search in the PDB (Protein Data Bank) with Quantum Mechanics calculations at the PBE0‐D3/def2‐TZVPD level of theory. Results indicate the noncovalent and attractive nature of the interaction, being important to fully

Transcriptomic and Metabolomic Insights Into the Prebiotic Potential of Camellia Seed Oil for Enhancing Akkermansia muciniphila Proliferation In Vitro

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 13, Issue 1, January 2025.
Camellia seed oil is rich in bioactive compounds, which could promote the in vitro proliferation of Akkermansia muciniphila by reducing the oxidation–reduction potential of the media and activating the metabolism pathways involving energy and nucleic acid metabolism, protein synthesis, and environmental adaptation, thereby facilitating the nutrient ...

Rat hepatic cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (GTP). Structures of the protein, messenger RNA, and gene.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1985
The primary structure of the messenger RNA coding for cytosolic phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase was determined by sequencing cDNA and genomic DNA and by primer extension of the mRNA. The molecule is 2624 nucleotides in length; this includes 143 nontranslated nucleotides at the 5' end and 615 nontranslated nucleotides at the 3' end.

Cyclic AMP induction of phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (GTP) gene transcription is mediated by multiple promoter elements.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1991
The cis elements involved in the cAMP regulation of transcription of the gene for phosphoenolpyruvate carboxykinase (GTP) (EC 4.1.1.32) (PEPCK) were studied by introducing a series of block mutations (10-15 base pairs of random sequence) into eight of the protein binding domains in a region of the promoter between -490 and +73. Each mutant promoter was
