Lysosomal Phospholipase A2 and Phospholipidosis [PDF]
A lysosomal phospholipase A2, LPLA2, was recently characterized and shown to have substrate specificity for phosphatidylcholine and phosphatidylethanolamine. LPLA2 is ubiquitously expressed but is most highly expressed in alveolar macrophages. Double conditional gene targeting was employed to elucidate the function of LPLA2. LPLA2-deficient mice (Lpla2-

The critical transition from amyloid pathology to irreversible neuronal loss in Alzheimer's disease hinges on the microglial response. This review aims to systematize the patterns of how microglia react within the glial context. Abstract Microglia mount coordinated, stage‐dependent compensatory programs in response to early amyloid β (Aβ) accumulation ...

Experimental design and behavioral outcomes of bee venom treatment in a murine model of Parkinson's disease. Mice received an intrastriatal injection of 6‐OHDA into the right hemisphere to induce dopaminergic degeneration. Animals were subsequently treated with l‐DOPA/carbidopa, with or without bee venom (BV) administered intraperitoneally.

ABSTRACT Snakebite envenomation is a major public health concern, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income regions where access to safe and effective antivenoms is limited. Traditional antivenoms, derived from immunization with crude venom, often trigger adverse reactions and lack specificity against key venom components.

ABSTRACT Phospholipase D (PLD) catalyzes the hydrolysis of phospholipids to generate phosphatidic acid and free head groups such as choline. Among bacterial PLD enzymes, Streptomyces chromofuscus PLD (SchPLD), a member of the alkaline phosphatase D (PhoD) superfamily, exhibits unique Ca2+‐dependent phospholipase activity.

ABSTRACT Pancreatic cancer is the fourth leading cause of cancer deaths in the US and predicted to rise to second by 2030. Several risk factors have been identified as potential contributors to pancreatic cancer development including lifestyle factors and long‐term exposure to occupational and environmental carcinogens.

Endogenous phospholipase A2 inhibitors in snakes: a brief overview
The blood plasma of numerous snake species naturally comprises endogenous phospholipase A2 inhibitors, which primarily neutralize toxic phospholipases A2 that may eventually reach their circulation.

ABSTRACT Background Cell senescence (CS) and lipid metabolism (LM) disorders have been reported in chronic rhinosinusitis with nasal polyps (CRSwNP). However, the mechanism is still unclear. Methods Data were obtained from public databases; differential expression analysis and machine learning were performed to identify biomarkers and to understand the
