Germanane Quantum Dots Promote Metabolic Reprogramming of Immune Cells Toward Regulatory T Cells and Suppress Inflammation In Vitro and In Vivo

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Metabolic changes in immune cells direct the phenotype and function of the host immune system. Smart nanomaterials must target metabolic pathways to direct immune cell fate. This study reports the fabrication and first application of germanane quantum dots (GeHQDs) to modulate inflammation in vitro and in vivo.

A Low-Cost, High-Performance System for Fluorescence Lateral Flow Assays

open access: yesBiosensors, 2013
We demonstrate a fluorescence lateral flow system that has excellent sensitivity and wide dynamic range. The illumination system utilizes an LED, plastic lenses and plastic and colored glass filters for the excitation and emission light.

Simultaneous expression of CD4 and CD8 antigens by a substantial proportion of resting porcine T lymphocytes [PDF]

open access: yes, 1987
The existence of four subpopulations in resting porcine T lymphocytes is documented. In addition to the two known subpopulations which are typified by a mutually exclusive expression of either the CD8 or the CD4 differentiation antigen, CD4-CD8+ and CD4 ...

Exciton splitting in phycoerythrin 545.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1994
Phycoerythrin 545 is a biliprotein having a polypeptide structure of alpha 2 beta 2, and each alpha and beta polypeptide has chromophores. Circular dichroism (CD) and absorption spectroscopy in the visible region together with various biochemical protocols have been used to study these chromophores.

Cold Atmospheric Plasma‐Activated Decellularized Extracellular Matrix Gel as a Tumor‐Infiltrating Immunoactivation Platform for Post‐Surgical Cancer Immunotherapy

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
An injectable cold atmospheric plasma‐activated decellularized tumor extracellular matrix hydrogel is introduced as a post‐surgical immunoactivation platform. The engineered gel attracts residual tumor cells and induces immunogenic cell death, reshaping the tumor microenvironment and eliciting systemic antitumor immunity. In combination with checkpoint

Nitrogen-Fixing Cyanobacterium with a High Phycoerythrin Content [PDF]

open access: yesApplied and Environmental Microbiology, 1989
The elemental and molecular composition, pigment content, and productivity of a phycoerythrin-rich nitrogen-fixing cyanobacterium—an Anabaena strain isolated from the coastal lagoon Albufera de Valencia, Spain—has been investigated.

CDK4/6 Inhibition Induces CD8+ T Cell Antitumor Immunity via MIF‐Induced Functional Orchestration of Tumor‐Associated Macrophages

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
CDK4/6 inhibition promotes CD8+ T cell expansion through tumor‐macrophage crosstalk by activating HIF‐1α and enhancing MIF‐CD44/CD74 signaling. This reprograms TAMs to boost MHC‐I antigen presentation, and CDK4/6 inhibitor‐trained M1 TAM supernatant therapy synergizes with low‐dose PD‐1 blockade to restore antitumor immunity.

cDC1 Subtype‐Specific In Vivo Targeting of Liposomes

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Dendritic cells, particularly the cDC1 subtype, offer a promising target for drug delivery via liposomes due to their pivotal role in immune regulation, allowing for amplified therapeutic responses. Herein, we show an integration of physicochemical characterization and cell experiments to achieve effective in vivo cDC1 targeting through anti‐CLEC9A ...

PHYCOBILISOMES AND ISOLATED PHYCOBILIPROTEINS. EFFECT OF GLUTARDIALDEHYDE AND BENZOQUINONE ON FLUORESCENCE [PDF]

open access: yes, 1980
The fluorescence of the biliproteins C-phycocyanin from Spirulina platensis, B-phycoerythrin from Porphyridium cruentum and of isolated whole P. cruentum phycobilisomes is quenched in the presence of glutardialdehyde (GA) or benzoquinone (BQ).

β‐Adrenergic Signaling Promotes Anti‐Tumor Immunity in TP53‐mutant Oral Squamous Cell Carcinoma

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
β‐adrenergic stimulation enhances anti‐tumor immunity in TP53‐deficient oral squamous cell carcinoma by inducing tumor‐derived secretion of CXCL10, which attracts and activates cytotoxic CD8+ T cells. The findings demonstrate that β‐adrenergic signaling alters tumor–immune interactions via CXCL10‐mediated paracrine activation, revealing a neuro‐immune ...
