Frailty describes individuals with increased susceptibility to adverse health outcomes. The frailty index (FI) quantifies frailty by measuring deficit accumulation. This project aimed to characterize the molecular signature of frailty in the mouse kidney

Ultra‐White Elastomeric Coatings for Daytime Radiative Cooling
Passive daytime radiative cooling meets elasticity in a new class of ultra‐white silicone coatings. Combining high solar reflectance with strong sky‐window emission, they hold surfaces below ambient temperature under full sunlight while remaining flexible and stretchable. This combination of cooling performance and mechanical flexibility enables energy‐

Proportional hazards models with discrete frailty
We extend proportional hazards frailty models for lifetime data to allow a negative bi-nomial, Poisson, Geometric or other discrete distribution of the frailty variable. This might represent, for example, the unknown number of flaws in an item under test.

Overlapping and Distinct Physical and Biological Phenotypes in Pure Frailty and Obese Frailty
Abstract Background: Pure frailty and obese frailty are common types of frailty syndrome. However, the overlapping and distinct characteristics between pure frailty and obese frailty remain unclear. This study aims to reveal the overlapping/distinct physical and biological phenotypes of pure frailty and obese frailty, providing ...

Transdisciplinary Research In Frailty: Knowledge Translation To Inform New Models of Care
Transforming care for frail older adults requires more than rigorous research. While preventing, identifying and managing frailty are critical to reducing the personal and health systems impact of frailty worldwide, collaborative approaches to research ...

Smart Nanotechnologies for Multimodal Neuromodulation and Brain Interfacing
Recent advances in smart nanotechnologies are expanding the toolbox for brain interfacing, from wireless neuromodulation and high‐resolution sensing to targeted delivery within the central nervous system. By combining responsive nanomaterials with bioinspired design, these platforms enable multimodal interactions with neurons and glia, while also ...

Comparing Virtual and Center Based Cardiac Rehabilitation on Changes in Frailty
This is a paper-based thesis, however, the manuscript (Chapter 4) has not been submitted to an academic journal at the time of submitting this thesis.Cardiac rehabilitation (CR) is the gold standard for the secondary prevention of cardiovascular disease (

Multiferroic order parameters – polarization, magnetization, and ferroelastic strain – are positioned as dynamic design variables for batteries. Their mechanistic roles, practical tuning through fabrication and external fields, and ferroic‐resolved characterization routes are unified into a closed‐loop framework, revealing how coupled ferroic responses
