Thermosensitive Nanostructured Coacervates Developed by Mixing ABA‐ and AB‐Block Copolymers and Their Unique Sustained Release of Nano‐Micelles in a Regulated Manner
Small, EarlyView.Polyion complex micelles composed of blends of ABA and AB block copolymers can form coacervates with a hexagonally packed cylinder nanostructure after heating. The resulting coacervates can release the micelles under physiological conditions in a zero‐order kinetics, possessing cargo proteins.Takumi Egashira, Hiroshi Kamizawa, Yujiro Hamada, Wataru Fushimoto, Hiroshi Y. Allergy, EarlyView. No stable features were identified as associated with asthma symptom control in transcriptomics or sputum proteomics. Higher TWEAKR/TNFRSF12A and MBL/MBP‐C serum levels increased the odds of uncontrolled symptoms, while higher MK08/MAPK8 and CD5L serum levels decreased the odds, after adjustment for clinical variables.Joana Antão, Guilherme Rodrigues, Nazanin Zounemat‐Kermani, Paolo Montuschi, Qichen Deng, Frits M. Journal of Clinical Periodontology, EarlyView.ABSTRACT Introduction
This explanatory pilot study presents a workflow to identify approved drugs, which could be repurposed for periodontitis therapy using salivary proteomics combined with drug‐target database screening. Methods
Proteomic analyses of saliva using LC–MS/MS were conducted in two independent settings: a cohort (sub‐study I, N = 187) and Taisir Bozo, Annette Murr, Birte Holtfreter, Sebastian‐Edgar Baumeister, Peter Meisel, Uwe Völker, Werner Weitschies, Henry Völzke, Philipp Kanzow, Elke Hammer, Manuela Gesell Salazar, Thomas Kocher +11 morewiley +1 more sourcePlant Peptides on the Rise: From Historical Insight to Future Applications
Plant Biotechnology Journal, EarlyView.ABSTRACT
Plant peptides constitute a rapidly expanding class of signalling molecules essential to plant physiology, mediating key processes such as development, stress adaptation, and immune responses. This review traces the history of plant peptide research, from the seminal discovery of systemin to the recent identification of non‐canonical peptides (Shunxi Wang, Jinghua Zhang, Minghui Chen, Bokai Zhang, Huina Zhao, Liuji Wu +5 morewiley +1 more sourceEplontersen for Hereditary Transthyretin Amyloidosis With Polyneuropathy: An Exploratory Analysis of Treatment Effect in Male and Female Patients
Muscle &Nerve, Volume 73, Issue 6, Page 1118-1127, June 2026.This exploratory analysis of data from the NEURO‐TTRansform trial evaluated sex‐specific responses in patients with ATTRv‐PN who had received eplontersen in NEURO‐TTRansform versus a historical placebo. Eplontersen can lead to substantial decreases in percentage serum TTR levels, arrest neuropathy impairment, and improve patient quality of life ...Márcia Waddington Cruz, John L. Advanced Functional Materials, Volume 36, Issue 36, 4 May 2026.Despite over three decades of research, no tissue‐engineered solution for auricular reconstruction in microtia patients has reached clinical translation. The key challenge lies in generating functional elastic cartilage ex vivo. Here, we integrate synergistic cell‐biomaterial strategies to engineer auricular grafts with mechanical and histological ...Philipp Fisch, Sandra Kessler, Simone Ponta, Anna Puiggalí‐Jou, Guoliang Lyu, Killian Flégeau, Anastasiya Martyts, Florian Roth, David Fercher, Filippo M. International Journal of PharmaceuticsMesalamine is a standard first-line therapy for managing chronic inflammatory bowel diseases, such as Crohn's disease and ulcerative colitis. Despite its established efficacy, the precise mechanism of action within enterocytes remains unclear. This study aimed to develop and validate Physiologically Based Biopharmaceutics Models (PBBM) for mesalamine ...Jadhav, Harshad, Van Camp, Arno, Tannergren, Christer, Lemmens, Glenn, Brouwers, Joachim, Vanuytsel, Tim, Steigert, Sebastian, Augustijns, Patrick +7 moreopenaire +3 more sources
