Tipifarnib physiologically‐based pharmacokinetic modeling to assess drug–drug interaction, organ impairment, and biopharmaceutics in healthy subjects and cancer patients

open access: yesCPT: Pharmacometrics & Systems Pharmacology
A physiologically‐based pharmacokinetic (PBPK) model for tipifarnib, which included mechanistic absorption, was built and verified by integrating in vitro data and several clinical data in healthy subjects and cancer patients.

Autophagy Plays a Suppressive Role in Bladder Tumor Formation in an Orthotopic Mouse Model and Bladder Cancer Patient Specimens

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Autophagy plays either a suppressing or promoting role during tumor development. Clarifying the role of autophagy in bladder tumorigenesis both in vitro and in vivo is crucial for developing novel therapeutic strategies through manipulating autophagy activity.

Ex Vivo Evaluation of Poly(Solketal Acrylate) Nanoparticles for Intravitreal Drug Delivery to the Posterior Eye Segment

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, EarlyView.
Nile Red‐loaded poly(solketal acrylate) nanoparticles enable fluorescence tracking and exhibit nontoxic profiles in retinal cells. Enhanced cellular uptake and deep retinal penetration after intravitreal injection highlight their excellent potential for targeted ocular drug delivery to the posterior segment of the eye.

Ion Activation Methods for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Mass spectrometry (MS) has emerged as a premier method used to characterize the sequences of proteins. Top‐down proteomics aims to capture the multiple sources of structural diversity reflected in proteins, such as those that arise from alternative RNA splicing events or the addition of post‐translational modifications. Tandem MS (i.e., MS/MS)

Recent Advances (2023–2025) of Capillary Electrophoresis‐Mass Spectrometry (CE‐MS) for Top‐Down Proteomics

open access: yesMass Spectrometry Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Top‐down proteomics (TDP) characterizes proteoforms in cells, tissues, and biofluids, in discovery mode and on a global scale, requiring analytical tools with high peak capacity for proteoform separation and high sensitivity for proteoform detection, given the extremely high proteoform complexity and wide proteoform concentration dynamic range.

Associations Between Cumulative Head Trauma and Self‐Reported Parkinsonism and Parkinson's Disease in Former Soccer Players

open access: yesMovement Disorders, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Cumulative head trauma, encompassing repetitive head impacts (RHI) and traumatic brain injury (TBI), has been associated with later‐life neurodegenerative disease. Studies on parkinsonism/Parkinson's disease (PD) have evaluated RHI and TBI in isolation, yielding mixed results.
