Valosin‐containing protein counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its ATPase activity in vitro

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

Spatial and Temporal Dynamics of Inorganic Phosphate and Adenosine-5′-Triphosphate in the North Pacific Ocean

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science, 2018
Temporal variability in dissolved inorganic, organic phosphate (Pi, DOP) and particulate phosphorus (PPO4) concentrations, and microbial utilization of Pi and dissolved adenosine-5′-triphosphate (DATP) was studied at Station ALOHA (22.75°N, 158°W) in the

Sistem Presensi Mahasiswa Berbasis RFID Menggunakan Raspberry Pi 1 [PDF]

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Early Pupil Abnormality Frequency Predicts Poor Outcomes and Enhances International Mission for Prognosis and Analysis of Clinical Trials in Traumatic Brain Injury (IMPACT) Model Prognostication in Traumatic Brain Injury

open access: yesCritical Care Explorations
IMPORTANCE:. In patients with traumatic brain injury (TBI), baseline pupillary assessment is routine; however, the occurrence rate and clinical significance of pupil abnormalities over the early course of hospitalization remain poorly characterized ...

K(π, 1) arrangements

open access: yesTopology, 1995
The paper is mainly devoted to the topological theory of arrangements. An \(l\)-arrangement \(A\) is a finite set of hyperplanes in \(C^ l\), and its complement \(C = C(A)\) is the open \(2l\)-manifold \(C^ l \smallsetminus \bigcup A\). If the defining linear forms have real coefficients, then \(A\) is said to be complexified, and the arrangement \(A_ ...

Organizing the interface—Plasma membrane architecture and receptor dynamics in virus‐cell interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Plasma membranes contain dynamic nanoscale domains that organize lipids and receptors. Because viruses operate at similar scales, this architecture shapes early infection steps, including attachment, receptor engagement, and entry. Using influenza A virus and HIV‐1 as examples, we highlight how receptor nanoclusters, multivalent glycan interactions ...

AAA+ protein unfoldases—the Moirai of the proteome

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
AAA+ unfoldases are essential molecular motors that power protein degradation and disaggregation. This review integrates recent cryo‐electron microscopy (cryo‐EM) structures and single‐molecule biophysical data to reconcile competing models of substrate translocation.
