M. tuberculosis induces potent activation of IDO-1, but this is not essential for the immunological control of infection. [PDF]
Indoleamine 2,3-dioxygenesae-1 (IDO-1) catalyses the initial, rate-limiting step in tryptophan metabolism, thereby regulating tryptophan availability and the formation of downstream metabolites, including picolinic and quinolinic acid.

Evaluation of polydentate picolinic acid chelating ligands and an α-melanocyte-stimulating hormone derivative for targeted alpha therapy using ISOL-produced 225Ac. [PDF]
BackgroundActinium-225 (225Ac, t1/2 = 9.9 d) is a promising candidate radionuclide for use in targeted alpha therapy (TAT), though the currently limited global supply has hindered the development of a suitable Ac-chelating ligand and 225Ac ...

Identification and Characterization of a Novel pic Gene Cluster Responsible for Picolinic Acid Degradation in Alcaligenes faecalis JQ135. [PDF]
Picolinic acid is a common metabolite of l-tryptophan and some aromatic compounds and is an important intermediate in organic chemical synthesis. Although the microbial degradation/detoxification of picolinic acid has been studied for over 50 years, the ...

RELAXATION OF ISOLATED AORTA OF THE RABBIT BY PICOLINIC ACIDS [PDF]
When the isolated thoracic aorta of the rabbit was contracted with prostaglandin F2α, 5‐alkylpicolinic acids produced dose‐dependent relaxations. Picolinic acid, 2,5‐pyridinedicarboxylic acid and 5‐acetylpicolinic acid which do not have the 5‐alkyl residue failed to relax blood vessels.

Solution Equilibrium Studies of Anticancer Ruthenium(II)-η6-p-cymene Complexes of Pyridinecarboxylic Acids [PDF]
Stoichiometry and stability of antitumor ruthenium(II)-η6-p-cymene complexes of picolinic acid and its 6-methyl and 6-carboxylic acid derivatives were determined by pH-potentiometry, 1H NMR spectroscopy and UV–Vis spectrophotometry in aqueous solution in
