The comparative study of linear solvatation energy relationship for the reactivity of pyridine carboxylic acids with diazodiphenylmethane in protic and aprotic solvents [PDF]
Protic and aprotic solvent effects on the reactivity of picolinic, nicotinic and isonicotinic acid, as well as of some substituted nicotinic acids with diazodiphenylmethane (DDM) were investigated.

What if Cocrystallization Fails for Neutral Molecules? Screening Offered Eutectics as Alternate Pharmaceutical Materials: Leflunomide-a Case Study [PDF]
Background: The manuscript is aimed to optimize the biopharmaceutical parameters of a poorly soluble, neutral anti-rheumatic drug ‘leflunomide’ by preparing its non-covalent derivatives (NCDs).

RELAXATION OF ISOLATED AORTA OF THE RABBIT BY PICOLINIC ACIDS [PDF]
When the isolated thoracic aorta of the rabbit was contracted with prostaglandin F2α, 5‐alkylpicolinic acids produced dose‐dependent relaxations. Picolinic acid, 2,5‐pyridinedicarboxylic acid and 5‐acetylpicolinic acid which do not have the 5‐alkyl residue failed to relax blood vessels.

Cytokines and tryptophan metabolites can predict depressive symptoms in pregnancy
Depression during and after pregnancy affects up to 20% of pregnant women, but the biological underpinnings remain incompletely understood. As pregnancy progresses, the immune system changes to facilitate fetal development, leading to distinct ...

The Physiological Action of Picolinic Acid in the Human Brain [PDF]
Picolinic Acid is an endogenous metabolite of L-tryptophan (TRP) that has been reported to possess a wide range of neuroprotective, immunological, and anti-proliferative affects within the body. However the salient physiological function of this molecule is yet to be established.

Polymorphism in the 1/1 Pterostilbene/Picolinic Acid Cocrystal [PDF]
The crystal structures of two new polymorphs of the 1/1 pterostilbene/picolinic acid cocrystal have been analyzed by single-crystal X-ray diffraction and studied by means of DFT calculations and a set of computational tools (QTAIM, NCIplot, MEP). The observation of a new R2 2(10) synthon in each of the two polymorphs has been analyzed energetically ...

3-Hydroxypyridinium-2-carboxylate
Comparable to many amino acids, the title compound, C6H5NO3, is a substitution product of picolinic acid. The molecule shows approximate non-crystallographic Cs symmetry. Like many amino acids, the molecule is present in its zwitterionic state. Intra- as

Solubility and Crystallization Studies of Picolinic Acid
Solubility and crystallization studies of a monocarboxylic derivative of pyridine, picolinic acid (2-pyridinecarboxylic acid), were undertaken as a need for new data in the literature was identified. Moreover, comparative studies of structurally related small molecules, such as these pyridinecarboxylic acid isomers (picolinic acid (PA), nicotinic acid (

Similarity Between the Action of Pteridines and Tryptophan Metabolites on Lipid Metabolism
Incorporation of fatty acids into phospholipids has been investigated using samples of rat liver tissue homogenate, Krebs-Ringer-phosphate buffer (pH=7.4) containing 0.3% albumin, fatty acid mixture and glycerol. The addition of anthranilic acid (2.2 and
