LURP1, a SARD1‐regulated protein, coordinates with the helper NLR ADR1 to promote plant immunity
The working model of LURP1 function in plant immunity. Upon pathogen infection, SARD1/CBP60g promotes the transcription of LURP1 directly. LURP1 likely functions as an adaptor protein that associates with the PRRs–BAK1 complexes at the plasma membrane (PM) while also interacts with the ADR1 family helper NLRs.

Metabolism of lysine in alpha-aminoadipic semialdehyde dehydrogenase-deficient fibroblasts: Evidence for an alternative pathway of pipecolic acid formation [PDF]
The mammalian degradation of lysine is believed to proceed via two distinct routes, the saccharopine and the pipecolic acid routes, that ultimately converge at the level of α-aminoadipic semialdehyde (α-AASA).

Jasmonate signalling underpins establishment of plant systemic acquired resistance (SAR). Activation of the hypersensitive response (HR) not only contains the pathogen but establishes broad spectrum resistance in unchallenged leaves. The strong burst of reactive oxygen/nitrogen species initiating the HR results in lipid peroxidation (illustrated by ...

Asymmetric synthesis of pipecolic acid and derivatives
The nonproteinogenic α-amino acid, l-pipecolic acid and its derivatives are components of a wide range of pharmacologically active compounds. The significant biological activity of these compounds has resulted in the development of many synthetic ...

Mutations of ousA Alter the Virulence of Erwinia chrysanthemi
A negative correlation was observed between the aggressiveness of several Erwinia chrysanthemi strains on potato tuber and their osmotic tolerance. The disruption of the ousA gene encoding the major osmoprotectant uptake system highly enhanced bacterial ...

SUMMARY Drought stress has a profound impact on yield, with massive repercussions for agricultural production. In addition to ABA, the central hormone controlling the plant response to drought, secondary metabolites also play important functions in drought stress; however, the precise nature of their roles is still obscure. Metabolomics analysis of ABA‐

6‑Alkynyl- and 6‑Aryl-Substituted (R)‑Pipecolic Acid Derivatives
(R)-α-Aminoadipic acid is a readily available enantiomerically pure starting material for the synthesis of (R)-pipecolic acid and its derivatives. Sonogashira or Suzuki cross-coupling reactions of an N-formyl pipecolate-derived vinyl bromide furnish 6 ...

The Application of Amino Acids as a Sustainable Strategy for Managing Water Stress in Vineyards
Water scarcity increasingly threatens viticulture in the Macaronesian region due to climatic variability and recurrent droughts. This study evaluated the physiological and productive responses of grapevines (Vitis vinifera L.) to foliar applications of ...

A plant‐centric view of class B flavin‐dependent monooxygenase evolution and diversity
SUMMARY Flavin‐dependent monooxygenases (FMOs) are ancient enzymes present throughout all kingdoms of life. FMOs utilize flavin‐based cofactors to incorporate an oxygen atom into their substrate, altering its chemical properties. Class B FMOs are enriched throughout the plant kingdom, catalyzing essential reactions for plant development and defense ...
