Long-Distance Communication and Signal Amplification in Systemic Acquired Resistance

open access: yesFrontiers in Plant Science, 2013
Systemic acquired resistance (SAR) is an inducible defense mechanism in plants that confers enhanced resistance against a variety of pathogens. SAR is activated in the uninfected systemic (distal) organs in response to a prior (primary) infection ...

SARD1 and CBP60g redundantly regulate N‐hydroxypipecolic acid‐ and salicylic acid‐dependent systemic immunity but are dispensable for the activation of indolic defense metabolism

open access: yesThe Plant Journal, Volume 127, Issue 6, September 2026.
SUMMARY We investigated the roles of the cognate, redundantly acting transcription factors SARD1 and CPB60g in the metabolic reprogramming of leaves of Arabidopsis thaliana suffering from bacterial infection or UV light exposure. Comprehensive metabolite analyses reveal that SARD1/CBP60g exert distinct influences on major stress‐inducible metabolic ...

Characterizing the metabolic divide: distinctive metabolites differentiating CAD-T2DM from CAD patients

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology
Objective To delineate the metabolomic differences in plasma samples between patients with coronary artery disease (CAD) and those with concomitant CAD and type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM), and to pinpoint distinctive metabolites indicative of T2DM risk ...

Arbuscular mycorrhizal symbiosis enhances the drought tolerance of Populus cathayana by modulating glutamate and lysine metabolism

open access: yesPlant Stress
Arbuscular mycorrhizal fungi (AMF) can effectively increase plant drought tolerance by promoting nitrogen (N) uptake. However, the regulatory pathways through which AMF-induced additional N uptake affects plant drought tolerance remain poorly understood.

Lysine and Pipecolic Acid Metabolism in the Domestic Fowl

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1970
SummaryExperiments were conducted with colostomized adult Leghorn pullets to determine the urinary excretion products produced from the metabolism of d- and l-lysine and l–pipecolic acid. The results indicate that the fowl, unlike the rat, excretes very little free pipecolic acid after an intraperitoneal dose of either d-lysine or l-pipecolate.

Simultaneous production of D-pipecolic acid and L-.ALPHA.-aminoadipic acid from DL-pipecolic acid using a microorganism.

open access: yesAgricultural and Biological Chemistry, 1988
The production of D-pipecolic acid from DL-pipecolic acid using a microbe was investigated. Some bacteria which assimilated L-pipecolic acid in preference to D-pipecolic acid and accumulated L-α-aminoadipic acid extracellularly when cultivated on DL-pipecolic acid were isolated. When one of these bacteria, which was designated as Alcaligenes sp. 309B1,

Lysine pathway metabolites and the risk of type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular disease in the PREDIMED study: results from two case-cohort studies

open access: yesCardiovascular Diabetology, 2019
Background The pandemic of cardiovascular disease (CVD) and type 2 diabetes (T2D) requires the identification of new predictor biomarkers. Biomarkers potentially modifiable with lifestyle changes deserve a special interest.

Seven conformers of pipecolic acid identified in the gas phase [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
The multiconformational landscape of the non-proteinogenic cyclic amino acid pipecolic acid has been explored in the gas phase. Solid pipecolic acid (m.p.

Pipecolic acid in microbes: biosynthetic routes and enzymes

open access: yesJournal of Industrial Microbiology & Biotechnology, 2006
Pipecolic acid is an important precursor of many useful microbial secondary metabolites. Pipecolic acid-derived moieties are often crucial for the biological activities of some microbial natural products with pharmaceutical applications. Understanding the biogenesis of pipecolic acid in microorganisms would be a significant step toward the ...
