Piperazine Hepatitis

open access: yesGastroenterology, 1976
The first reported case of piperazine toxicity resembling viral hepatitis is described in a 25-year-old woman. The illness, which was severe, occurred after administration of the drug on two separate occasions. The evidence favors a hypersensitivity mechanism rather than a direct toxic effect of piperazine or its metabolites on the liver.

Rigidity versus flexibility: is this an issue in S1 (sigma-1) receptor ligand affinity and activity? [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A set of stereoisomeric 2,5-diazabicyclo[2.2.2]octanes 14 and 15 was prepared in a chiral-pool synthesis starting from (S)- or (R)-aspartate. The key step in the synthesis was a Dieckmann-analogous cyclization of (dioxopiperazinyl)acetates 8, which ...

Synthesis and Molecular Structure of tert-Butyl 4-(2-tert-butoxy-2-oxoethyl)piperazine-1-carboxylate

open access: yesCrystals, 2012
The crystal and molecular structure of tert-butyl 4-(2-tert-butoxy-2-oxoethyl)-piperazine-1-carboxylate is reported. The title compound crystallizes from a petroleum ether/ethyl acetate mixture in the monoclinic space group P 21/c with four molecules in ...

A Concise Synthetic Method for Constructing 3-Substituted Piperazine-2-Acetic Acid Esters from 1,2-Diamines

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
We report a short synthetic route for synthesizing 2,3-substituted piperazine acetic acid esters. Optically pure amino acids were efficiently converted into 1,2-diamines that could be utilized to deliver the title 2,3-substituted piperazines in five ...

Solid-Phase Synthesis of Amine/Carboxyl Substituted Prolines and Proline Homologues: Scope and Limitations [PDF]

open access: yes, 2016
A solid-phase procedure is used to synthesize racemic peptidomimetics based on the fundamental peptide unit. The peptidomimetics are constructed around proline or proline homologues variably substituted at the amine and carbonyl sites.

Pharmacological profiles of aminoindanes, piperazines, and pipradrol derivatives [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Aminoindanes, piperazines, and pipradrol derivatives are novel psychoactive substances found in "Ecstasy" tablets as replacements for 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine (MDMA) or substances sold as "ivory wave." The pharmacology of these MDMA- and ...

Three 4-(4-fluorophenyl)piperazin-1-ium salts containing organic anions: supramolecular assembly in one, two and three dimensions

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2020
Three salts containing the 4-(4-fluorophenyl)piperazin-1-ium cation have been prepared and structurally characterized. In 4-(4-fluorophenyl)piperazin-1-ium 2-hydroxy-3,5-dinitrobenzoate, C10H14FN2+·C7H3N2O7−, (I), the anion contains an intramolecular O—H.

Crystal structure of 2-(4-methylpiperazin-1-yl)quinoline-3-carbaldehyde

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section E: Crystallographic Communications, 2015
In the title compound, C15H17N3O, the aldehyde group is twisted relative to the quinoline group by17.6 (2)° due to the presence of a bulky piperazinyl group in the ortho position.

Introduction of Substituents on the 2-Oxo-piperazine Skeleton by [3+2] Cycloaddition and Subsequent Transformation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
The 3,4-substituted 2-oxo-piperazines 5 - 9 are obtained by [3+2] cycloaddition from nitrone 1 and a variety of alkenes. Subsequent functionalization of the bicyclic adducts involves reductive N-O bond cleavage. A route towards libraries of immobilized 1,

Recreational use, analysis and toxicity of tryptamines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
The definition New psychoactive substances (NPS) refers to emerging drugs whose chemical structures are similar to other psychoactive compounds but not identical, representing a "legal" alternative to internationally controlled drugs.
