Tumor mutational burden as a determinant of metastatic dissemination patterns

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study performed a comprehensive analysis of genomic data to elucidate whether metastasis in certain organs share genetic characteristics regardless of cancer type. No robust mutational patterns were identified across different metastatic locations and cancer types.

The depuration fate of the mixtures of CdS/ZnS quantum dots (QDs) with different surface coatings on mangrove and wheat root epidermis: results from a novel method

open access: yesEnvironmental Sciences Europe, 2019
Background The depuration fate of mixtures of metal-based quantum dots (QDs) in root epidermis is an important factor that determined their follow-up transportation and transformation processes in plant.

Study of the anatomical structure of the herbal raw materials of Achillea micranthoides Klok. et Krytzka

open access: yesAktualʹnì Pitannâ Farmacevtičnoï ì Medičnoï Nauki ta Praktiki, 2020
Herbal raw materials and herbal drugs derived from it constitute a complete material if they comply with current regulatory documents. This compliance is determined by pharmacognostic analysis.

PIN-FORMED1 polarity in the plant shoot epidermis is insensitive to the polarity of neighboring cells

open access: yesiScience, 2022
At the Arabidopsis shoot apex, epidermal cells are planar-polarized along an axis marked by the asymmetric localization patterns of several proteins including PIN-FORMED1 (PIN1), which facilitates the directional efflux of the plant hormone auxin to pattern phyllotaxis.

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Anatomical variations in stomatal attributes of selected species of family Asteraceae

open access: yesCommunications in Plant Sciences, 2016
In order to document stomatal characters which are significant in taxonomy, a detailed microscopic study on leaf epidermis of the selected taxa from Asteraceae was carried out. The plant species were Sonchus oleraceus, Bidens bipinnata, Centaurea iberica,

Protocol: optimised electrophyiological analysis of intact guard cells from arabidopsis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Genetic resources available for Arabidopsis thaliana make this species particularly attractive as a model for molecular genetic studies of guard cell homeostasis, transport and signalling, but this facility is not matched by accessible tools for ...

Extensive embryonic patterning without cellular differentiation primes the plant epidermis for efficient post-embryonic stomatal activities

open access: yesDevelopmental Cell, 2023
Plant leaves feature epidermal stomata that are organized in stereotyped patterns. How does the pattern originate? We provide transcriptomic, imaging, and genetic evidence that Arabidopsis embryos engage known stomatal fate and patterning factors to create regularly spaced stomatal precursor cells.

Subtype‐specific enhancer RNAs define transcriptional regulators and prognosis in breast cancers

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study employed machine learning methodologies to perform the subtype‐specific classification of RNA‐seq data sets, which are mapped on enhancers from TCGA‐derived breast cancer patients. Their integration with gene expression (referred to as ProxCReAM eRNAs) and chromatin accessibility profiles has the potential to identify lineage‐specific and ...
