Enhanced digestion inhibition and mucus penetration of F127-modified self-nanoemulsions for improved oral delivery

open access: yesAsian Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 2018
Self-nanoemulsifying systems (SNEs) have excellent ability to improve the solubility of poorly water-soluble drugs (PWSD). However, SNEs are likely to be degraded in gastrointestinal (GIT) when their surface is recognized by lipase/co-lipase enzyme ...

A Triple‐Nanoparticle System for Controlled Graphene Nanosheet Stacking: Enabling K/Na‐Ion Battery Anodes with Ultra‐Fast Charging Exceeding Petroleum Vehicle Refueling

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Large‐ion (K, Na) battery systems mitigate uneven global lithium distribution, while their ability to attain recharge time shorter than refueling would remove the final barrier for secondary batteries to replace petroleum vehicles. However, their large‐ion chemistry makes ultra‐fast charging an even significant challenge.

Preparation and Evaluation of Lipid-Based Liquid Crystalline Formulation of Fenofibrate

open access: yesAdvanced Biomedical Research, 2018
Background: Many drugs have poor water solubility and so the oral delivery of such drugs is usually associated with limitation of low bioavailability and lack of dose proportionality.

Lyophilized wafers comprising carrageenan and pluronic acid for buccal drug delivery using model soluble and insoluble drugs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Lyophilized muco-adhesive wafers with optimum drug loading for potential buccal delivery have been developed. A freeze-annealing cycle was used to obtain optimized wafers from aqueous gels containing 2% κ-carrageenan (CAR 911), 4% pluronic acid (F127), 4.

Toward Fast‐Charging Polymer‐Electrolyte Based All‐Solid‐State Li–S Batteries: Insights into Limiting Factors and Perspectives

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The schematic illustrates the important design strategies for polymer solid electrolyte‐based all‐solid‐state lithium‐sulfur batteries (ASSLSBs), including improved ionic conductivity, reduced polysulfide shuttling, stabilized electrode‐electrolyte interfaces, and lithium dendrite mitigation for developing high power and fast charging ASSLSBs ...

Tuning Pluronic Hydrogel Networks: Effects of Vancomycin Loading on Gelation, Rheological Properties, and Micellar Structures

open access: yesGels
Thermoresponsive Pluronic hydrogels offer a promising platform for localised antibiotic delivery. However, how drug loading affects the structural integrity and gelation of these systems remains underexplored.

Smart Microgel Studies. Interaction of Polyether-Modified Poly(Acrylic Acid) Microgels with Anticancer Drugs [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Studies of submillimeter gels composed of covalently cross-linked poly(acrylic acid)-g-poly(ethylene oxide)-b-poly(propylene oxide)-b-poly(ethylene oxide) (Pluronic-PAA) networks are reviewed in light of potential applications of the microgels as drug ...

Microbial Odorant Detection Guides Drosophila Parasitoids Seeking Hosts in Fermenting Fruits

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Yeast microbes in fermenting fruits attract both host flies and their parasitoid wasps. Female Leptopilina boulardi detect yeast‐emitted ethyl esters via two olfactory receptors, LbouOR167 and LbouOR136. A conserved residue, Leu159, is critical for binding these compounds, enabling female wasps to locate host‐rich habitats.

Synergistic Effect of Retinoic Acid Polymeric Micelles and Prodrug for the Pharmacodynamic Evaluation of Tumor Suppression

open access: yesFrontiers in Pharmacology, 2019
All-trans retinoic acid (ATRA) is an effective agent that induces differentiation, inhibits cell proliferation, and acts as an anticancer agent. ATRA was successfully conjugated with Pluronic F127 via esterification to enhance its anticancer effects ...
