The immunoregulatory role of mesenchymal stem cells (MSCs) in inflammation is heterogeneous and can exhibit anti-inflammatory or proinflammatory properties depending on the microenvironment. We herein observed that the activation of Toll-like receptor 3 (

Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Coronal Temperature Diagnostic Capability of the Hinode/X-Ray Telescope Based on Self-Consistent Calibration [PDF]
The X-Ray Telescope (XRT) onboard the Hinode satellite is an X-ray imager that observes the solar corona with unprecedentedly high angular resolution (consistent with its 1" pixel size).

An isoform of 14‐3‐3 protein regulates transbilayer lipid movement at the plasma membrane
Loss of 14‐3‐3ζ in CHO cells confers resistance to exogenous phosphatidylserine (PS) and impairs endocytosis‐independent inward flip‐flop of fluorescent PS at the plasma membrane. RNAi‐mediated knockdown reproduces this defect, while no additive effect is seen in ATP11C‐deficient cells.

Influence of the bulk and surface morphology on adhesion of polystyrene-inter-poly-cross-2-ethylhexyl-methacrylate films and particles [PDF]
The adhesion behavior of semi-interpenetrating polymer networks (semi-IPNs) of linear polystyrene (PS) in crosslinked poly-2-ethylhexylmethacrylate (EHMA) was studied by variation of the bulk and surface morphology, i.e., domain size, continuity, and ...

Pharmacologic ascorbate (vitamin C) increases ROS, disrupts cellular metabolism, and induces DNA damage in CRPC cells. These effects sensitize tumors to PARP inhibition, producing synergistic growth suppression with olaparib in vitro and significantly delayed tumor progression in vivo. Pyruvate rescue confirms ROS‐dependent activity.

Effect of Poly I:C on Experimental Respiratory Infection in Hamsters [PDF]
The interferon inducer double-stranded polyinosinic acid and polycytidylic acid (poly I:C) was studied in hamsters experimentally infected with parainfluenza 3 virus. Upper intranasal, deep intranasal, or intraperitoneal treatment of hamsters with poly I:C (100 μg/100- to 120-g animal) 24 hr before an upper respiratory infection significantly reduced ...

PROTECTIVE EFFECT OF POLY I:C AGAINST SISOMICIN NEPHBOTOXICITY IN RABBITS [PDF]
The protective effect of Poly I:C during sisomicin nephrotoxicity in rabbits was determined by measurement of the urinary enzymes alkaline phosphatase (AF),lactic dehydrogenase (LDH) and N-a-cetyl-β-glycosaminidase(NAG). 18 rabbits were divided in 3 Groups.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Poly-MTO, {(CH_3)_{0.92} Re O_3}_\infty, a Conducting Two-Dimensional Organometallic Oxide [PDF]
Polymeric methyltrioxorhenium, {(CH_{3})_{0.92}ReO_{3}}_{\infty} (poly-MTO), is the first member of a new class of organometallic hybrids which adopts the structural pattern and physical properties of classical perovskites in two dimensions (2D).
