Methionine Regulates Antitumour Function of CD8+ T Cells Through Polyamine Synthesis

open access: yesImmunology, Volume 179, Issue 3, Page 418-433, November 2026.
Methionine restriction in vitro enhances CD8+ T cell effector function by suppressing polyamine synthesis and progressively induces the co‐expression of PD‐1 and TIM‐3. Consistently, sustained dietary methionine restriction diminishes the efficacy of adoptive T cell therapy (ACT) and promotes the expression of terminal exhaustion‐associated markers ...

Tracking Sodium Inside the Plant: Hydraulic Adjustments to Deal With Salinity

open access: yesJournal of Agronomy and Crop Science, Volume 212, Issue 6, November 2026.
ABSTRACT Sorghum is a crop that has become more relevant in recent years due to its uses and properties (biofuel, gluten‐free flour) as well as its versatility to grow in unfavourable environmental conditions. Salinity is one of the main abiotic stresses affecting crop production and yield worldwide.

Genomic variation drives plant flavor diversification

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, Volume 68, Issue 11, Page 3895-3913, November 2026.
This review explains how genomic variation shapes plant flavor by altering the biosynthetic and regulatory pathways of key attributes like sweetness, acidity, bitterness, piquancy, astringency, and aroma. It also discusses how multi‐omics, AI‐assisted breeding, and gene editing can translate this knowledge into plants with improved flavor, nutrition ...

The Sweetpotato Black Rot Pathogen Ceratocystis fimbriata

open access: yesMolecular Plant Pathology, Volume 27, Issue 11, November 2026.
We review current knowledge of the soilborne Ceratocystis fimbriata pathogen's biology, epidemiology, virulence and management, and identify priorities for future research. ABSTRACT Black rot, caused by the soilborne fungus Ceratocystis fimbriata, is a major postharvest disease of sweetpotato (Ipomoea batatas) worldwide.

Functional Characterization of the P‐Type ATPases ATP13A3 and ATP13A4 as Plasma Membrane Polyamine Transporters

open access: yesThe FASEB Journal, Volume 40, Issue 20, 31 October 2026.
ATP13A3 and ATP13A4 mediate the plasma membrane uptake of the polyamines, putrescine and spermidine, in an ATP‐dependent manner. ATP13A3 is broadly expressed across human tissues, whereas ATP13A4 is expressed at relatively high levels in the brain and lung.
