Polyethylene glycol and prevalence of colorectal adenomas : Population-based study of 1165 patients undergoing colonoscopy [PDF]
Background and aim — Dietary polyethylene glycol (PEG) is extraordinarily potent in the chemoprevention of experimental colon carcinogenesis. PEG is used to treat constipation in France and in the USA. French laxatives include Forlax® (PEG4000), Movicol®

Freeze-dried mucoadhesive polymeric system containing pegylated lipoplexes : towards a vaginal sustained released system for siRNA [PDF]
Topical vaginal sustained delivery of siRNA presents a significant challenge due to the short residence time of formulations. Therefore, a drug delivery system capable to adhere to the vaginal mucosa is desirable, as it could allow a prolonged delivery ...

A temperature-dependent implicit-solvent model of polyethylene glycol in aqueous solution [PDF]
A temperature (T)-dependent coarse-grained (CG) Hamiltonian of polyethylene glycol/oxide (PEG/PEO) in aqueous solution is reported to be used in implicit-solvent material models in a wide temperature (i.e., solvent quality) range. The T-dependent nonbonded CG interactions are derived from a combined "bottom-up" and "top-down" approach.

Co-extraction of high-quality RNA and DNA from rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) [PDF]
High-quality nucleic acids are the basic requirement for performing genomic research. A reliable and efficient method was developed for co-extracting high-quality DNA and RNA from rubber tree (Hevea brasiliensis) in this study.

The compaction properties of polyethylene glycols
Abstract The mechanical properties of polyethylene glycol (PEG) powders of different average molecular weights have been characterized in terms of their yield pressure, determined from the densification of compacts by the method of Heckel. The yield pressure was found to be proportional to the molecular weight of the PEG.

Dynamics of micrometer-scale phase separation in a polymer mixture upon laser irradiation [PDF]
Ten $\mu$m -sized droplets in an aqueous-two-phase system (water/ polyethylene-glycol (PEG)/ dextran) dissapear upon irradiation with a focused YAG laser. The interface of the dextran-rich droplet broadens, indicating smoothing of the concentration profile, whereas, the PEG-rich droplet shrinks and disappears.

Deep Eutectic Solvents (DES) based on sulphur for silicon surfaces as alternative lubricants [PDF]
Encontro realizado na Universidade Nova de Lisboa de 24-27 de junho de 2019.Deep eutectic mixtures composed of hydrogen-bond donors and hydrogen-bond acceptors, the so-called DESs, have recently being proposed as possible “green” alternatives to mineral ...
