Modulation of release kinetics by plasma polymerization of ampicillin-loaded ß-TCP ceramics [PDF]
Beta-tricalcium phosphate (ß-TCP) bioceramics are employed in bone repair surgery. Their local implantation in bone defects puts them in the limelight as potential materials for local drug delivery.

Biofilm Control by Active Topography with Mucin Coating
This study reports a new antifouling strategy based on a bioinspired design. Mucin coating enhances biofilm control by active topography with beating micron‐sized pillars. Besides the mechanical force of beating pillars, the antibiofilm activities also involve biological factors since mucin coating inhibits swarming motility and c‐di‐GMP synthesis in ...

The association among diet, dietary fiber, and bowel preparation at colonoscopy [PDF]
BACKGROUND AND AIMS: Pre-colonoscopy dietary restrictions vary widely and lack evidence-based guidance. We investigated whether fiber and various other foods/macronutrients consumed during the 3 days before colonoscopy are associated with bowel ...

This work presents π–conjugated polymers based on dihydropyrazine (DHP) and ethylenedioxythiophene (EDOT), developed to produce highly conductive, flexible films for printed electronics. By optimizing the DHP and EDOT ratio, strong and compact π–π stacking is achieved, resulting in polymer films with conductivities up to 1700 S cm−1 under ambient ...

H2O2‐Generating Advanced Nanomaterials for Cancer Treatment
H2O2‐generating nanoplatforms can exploit tumor redox imbalance for O2 and toxic reactive oxygen species generation, leading to hypoxia reversal, and apoptosis of cancer cells, respectively. This review highlights the mechanisms of these nanoplatforms, including exogenous H₂O₂ delivery, endogenous amplification, and metal peroxides, which leads to ...

The compaction properties of polyethylene glycols
Abstract The mechanical properties of polyethylene glycol (PEG) powders of different average molecular weights have been characterized in terms of their yield pressure, determined from the densification of compacts by the method of Heckel. The yield pressure was found to be proportional to the molecular weight of the PEG.
