Miquelianin, a main functional flavonoid of lotus leaf, induces thermogenic signature via p38‐PINK1‐PARKIN‐mediated mitophagy and mimicking NRF2 signaling during brown adipocyte differentiation

open access: yesFood Frontiers, Volume 4, Issue 4, Page 1831-1844, December 2023., 2023
Extract of lotus leaf exerts the strongest thermogenesis among 12 ingredients in C3H10T1/2 cells. Miquelianin induces brown and beige signatures in C3H10T1/2 cells. Miquelianin retains thermogenic capacity through p38‐PINK1‐PRKN‐mediated mitophagy and mimicking NRF2 signaling.

Extracellular matrix turnover: phytochemicals target and modulate the dual role of matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs) in liver fibrosis

open access: yesPhytotherapy Research, Volume 37, Issue 11, Page 4932-4962, November 2023., 2023
Phytochemicals treat liver fibrosis in chemicals induced in‐vivo and in‐vitro liver fibrosis models. MMPs are potential drug targets by novel natural drugs for treating hepatic fibrosis. MMPs regulate ECM turnover, fibrolysis, and stellate cell activation through alternative mechanisms.

Stilbene‐based derivatives as potential inhibitors of trimethylamine (TMA)‐lyase affect gut microbiota in coronary heart disease

open access: yesFood Science &Nutrition, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 93-100, January 2023., 2023
Docking results showed Resveratroloside had the highest Vina score, indicating that it was the most active and might be employed as a lead molecule for further structural modification. The possible action process of TMA‐Lyase lead compound was described, which further affects the occurrence and development of CHD.
