Advancing design strategies in smart stimulus‐responsive liposomes for drug release and nanomedicine
Schematic illustration of stimulus‐responsive liposomes designed for controlled drug release and nanomedicine. The innermost circle represents different liposomal structures, including unilamellar, multilamellar, and multivesicular liposomes. The middle layer illustrates the responsive phospholipid components.

Novel polymyxin derivatives are less cytotoxic than polymyxin B to renal proximal tubular cells
The emergence of very multiresistant Gram-negative bacterial strains has reinstated polymyxins (polymyxin B, colistin), pentacationic lipopeptides, in the therapy, in spite of their nephrotoxicity. Extensive tubular reabsorption concentrates polymyxin in

ABSTRACT Azithromycin has been used for clinical invasive infections caused by fluoroquinolone‐ and third‐generation cephalosporin‐resistant Salmonella, and mass drug administration with azithromycin has been used to reduce under‐5 mortality in children in some countries.

Colistin Update on Its Mechanism of Action and Resistance, Present and Future Challenges
Colistin has been extensively used since the middle of the last century in animals, particularly in swine, for the control of enteric infections. Colistin is presently considered the last line of defense against human infections caused by multidrug ...

Inwardly rectifying potassium channels mediate polymyxin-induced nephrotoxicity
Polymyxin antibiotics are often used as a last-line defense to treat life-threatening Gram-negative pathogens. However, polymyxin-induced kidney toxicity is a dose-limiting factor of paramount importance and can lead to suboptimal treatment. To elucidate

Antimicrobial Cyclic Peptidomimetics
Singular macromolecular cationic, amphipathic cyclic peptidomimetics with poly(2‐oxazoline)s‐esque backbone structure that undergo self‐assembly in water to form uniform nanoparticles were developed. The cyclic peptidomimetics, which act on bacterial cell membranes, exhibit hydrophobic‐dependent antimicrobial activity and toxicity.

Safe and effective therapies are urgently needed to treat polymyxin-resistant KPC-producing K. pneumoniae and suppress the emergence of resistance. We investigated the pharmacodynamics of polymyxin B, rifampin, and meropenem alone and as polymyxin B ...

Through network pharmacology and molecular docking, it has been discovered that CA can target MAOB, among other proteins, to exert a therapeutic effect in IBS. In vivo, CA lowered visceral hypersensitivity, anxiety and depression‐like behaviors, and fecal water content, highlighting its therapeutic potential for IBS via anti‐inflammatory pathways ...
