EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.

We analyze cisplatin–DNA adducts (CDAs) and double‐strand breaks (DSBs) in a cell‐cycle‐dependent manner. We find that CDAs form similarly across all cell cycle phases. DSBs arise only in S‐phase. CDAs might not directly impair DSB repair, but S‐phase DSB lesions evolve in the presence of CDAs and disrupt repair in G2, also causing radiosensitization ...

Demographic change and transport needs in the Waikato region
This report has been commissioned by Environment Waikato (EW) as part of its review of the Land Transport Strategy for the Waikato region. The report identifies key population characteristics that impact on transport needs of the EW region and the ...

Local PCA Shows How the Effect of Population Structure Differs Along the Genome
Principal component analysis (PCA) is often used to describe overall population structure—patterns of relatedness arising from past demographic history—among a set of genomes. Here, Li and Ralph describe how the patterns uncovered by....

Interpreting the effects of DNA polymerase variants at the structural level
Using MAVISp and molecular dynamics simulations, we analyzed over 60 000 missense variants in POLE and POLD1 from ClinVar, COSMIC, cBioPortal, and saturation mutagenesis. Identified mechanistic indicators, including stability, binding, and long‐range, enable structural interpretation, providing ACMG‐like evidence for possible reclassification of VUS ...

Seedling dispersion and population structure of rosewood (Aniba rosaeodora Ducke) in Ucayali, Peru [PDF]
Aniba rosaeodora is a valuable species of the Amazon, being extensively logged to extract linalool - a secondary metabolite that fixes cosmetic perfumes, which has led to its overexploitation and near extinction.

What do Bayesian methods offer population forecasters?
The Bayesian approach has a number of attractive properties for probabilistic forecasting. In this paper, we apply Bayesian time series models to obtain future population estimates with uncertainty for England and Wales.
