Binding of hemoglobin byPorphyromonas gingivalis [PDF]

open access: yesFEMS Microbiology Letters, 1995
In this study, we investigated whether Porphyromonas gingivalis can bind hemoglobin as an initial step in the acquisition of heme from hemoglobin. The binding of human hemoglobin by P. gingivalis cells was determined using [3H]hemoglobin. Hemoglobin binding occurred rapidly, reversibly and specifically.

H2S‐Amplified “Three‐in‐One” Antibacterial Strategy for Periodontitis Treatment Using a Photosensitive Pillararene‐Embedded COF/MOF Hybrid

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The integration of ROS‐generating systems with H2S depletion strategies effectively overcomes the limitations imposed by endogenous antioxidant defenses on ROS‐based antimicrobial therapies. In this study, the Cu‐MOF is incorporated into pillararene‐embedded COF, achieving a “three‐in‐one” antimicrobial effect that markedly alleviated periodontal ...

Human Leukocyte Elastase Triggered Nanoparticles for Targeted Antimicrobial Delivery and Oral Microbial Modulation

open access: yesAdvanced NanoBiomed Research, EarlyView.
This study explores enzyme‐responsive nanoparticles for targeted antimicrobial release in inflamed oral environments. Nanoparticles formed by complexing peptides and chlorhexidine respond to human leukocyte elastase and release chlorhexidine selectively. P7 (ECAAPVCE)‐based formulations show optimal properties and stability, with antimicrobial activity

脂肪滴はヒト肝細胞株におけるPorphyromonas gingivalisのオートファジー・リソソームシステムを介した排除機構に影響する

open access: yes, 2017
Recent studies have shown that infection with Porphyromonas gingivalis, a major periodontal pathogen, hastens the progression of non-alcoholic fatty liver disease (NAFLD). However, the intracellular fate of P.

Atomically precise metal cluster enzymes for pathological tissue regeneration

open access: yesBMEMat, EarlyView.
Schematic illustration of atomically precise metal cluster enzymes (MCEs) for pathological tissue regeneration. Atomically precise MCEs can modulate biological processes, such as attenuation of inflammatory responses, eradication of bacterial pathogens, regulation of angiogenesis, and promotion of cell development.

Inhibition of namnam (Cynometra cauliflora L.) leaves extract on the growth of Porphyromonas gingivalis

open access: yesPadjadjaran Journal of Dentistry, 2019
Introduction: Porphyromonas gingivalis growth should be prevented to minimise inflammation in periodontal tissues. Antibacterial herbs need to be considered because there are side effects caused by synthetic antibacterial drugs.

Expression of TNF, IL1B, and iNOS2 in the neural cell after induced by Porphyromonas gingivalis with and without coating antibody anti-Porphyromonas gingivalis [version 4; peer review: 2 approved]

open access: yesF1000Research, 2021
Porphyromonas gingivalis has virulence factors such as gingipain and lipopolysaccharide, causing bacteremia to reach the brain and activate neuroinflammatory release cytokines.

TLR2 activation by Porphyromonas gingivalis requires both PPAD activity and fimbriae [PDF]

open access: yes, 2022
Porphyromonas gingivalis, a keystone oral pathogen implicated in development and progression of periodontitis, may also contribute to the pathogenicity of diseases such as arthritis, atherosclerosis, and Alzheimer's. P. gingivalis is a master manipulator

Periodontitis treatment and microbiome in a patient with FAM20A mutation: Case study of 1.5 years

open access: yesClinical Advances in Periodontics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Enamel‐renal‐gingival syndrome (ERGS) is an autosomal recessive disorder caused by mutations in the FAMily with sequence similarity 20A (FAM20A) gene, and is characterized by amelogenesis imperfecta, delayed or failed tooth eruption, and periodontitis.

The first study to detect co-infection of Entamoeba gingivalis and periodontitis-associated bacteria in dental patients in Taiwan

open access: yesJournal of Microbiology, Immunology and Infection, 2021
Periodontitis, an inflammatory disease of the oral cavity, was caused by microbes from bacteria to protozoa. In this study, we detected protozoa, Entamoeba gingivalis and other three common pathogenic bacteria, Porphyromonas gingivalis, Treponema ...
