Semigroup Forum, 2004 The goal of this paper is to connect two different mathematical subjects, namely totally positive matrices and control sets. The set \(T\) of totally positive matrices in \(Sl(d,\mathbb{R})\) (subgroup of determinant one matrices of size \(d \times d\)) is also a semigroup with non-empty interior in \(Sl(d,\mathbb{R})\).

The role of histone modifications in transcription regulation upon DNA damage
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.This review discusses the critical role of histone modifications in regulating gene expression during the DNA damage response (DDR). By modulating chromatin structure and recruiting repair factors, these post‐translational modifications fine‐tune transcriptional programmes to maintain genomic stability.

Integration of circadian and hypoxia signaling via non‐canonical heterodimerization
FEBS Letters, EarlyView.CLOCK, BMAL1, and HIFs are basic helix‐loop‐helix and Per‐Arnt‐Sim domain (bHLH‐PAS) proteins, which function as transcription factors. bHLH‐PAS proteins are designated in two classes. Many class I proteins are regulated by environmental signals via their PAS domains, but such signals have not been identified for all.

Exact and positive controllability of boundary control systems
Networks & Heterogeneous Media, 2017 Using the semigroup approach to abstract boundary control problems we characterize the space of all exactly reachable states. Moreover, we study the situation when the controls of the system are required to be positive. The abstract results are applied to flows in networks with static as well as dynamic boundary conditions.
