Efficient Preservation of Perishable Fruits by Erasable Metal‐Organic Frameworks

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 14, 9 March 2026.
This study presents an erasable Pickering emulsion‐based coating stabilized by metal‐organic frameworks. This washable coating significantly extends fruit shelf life by scavenging ethylene and inhibiting foodborne pathogens, offering a sustainable solution for postharvest.

Assessment of sorghum anthracnose (Colletotrichum sublineolum P. Henn.) intensity and its association with biophysical factors in Western and Southwestern regions of Ethiopia

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract Ethiopia is Africa's second‐largest sorghum producer [Sorghum bicolor (L.) moench]. Despite these potentials, the production and productivity of sorghum yield remained low due to many agricultural factors. Among the factors, sorghum anthracnose caused by Colletotrichum sublineolum is one of the main fungal diseases substantially reducing ...

Participatory evaluation of biochar‐based fertilizer application: Effects on soil properties, yield, and yield components of bread wheat in acidic Nitisols

open access: yesAgrosystems, Geosciences &Environment, Volume 9, Issue 1, March 2026.
Abstract A participatory field experiment was conducted during the 2024 main cropping season in collaboration with local farmers who jointly managed and evaluated the trials. The experiment aims to evaluate the effects of biochar‐based fertilizer (BBF) on soil properties and bread wheat (Triticum aestivum) productivity grown on acidic Nitisols.

Impacts of variable‐rate potassium fertilization on corn and soybean yield and soil‐test variability

open access: yesAgronomy Journal, Volume 118, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Variable‐rate (VR) technology allows for changing nutrient rates within fields. This study compared VR and uniform‐rate (UR) potassium (K) fertilization for corn (Zea mays L.)–soybean [Glycine max (L.) Merr.] rotations. Grid soil‐sampling (0.1–0.3 ha cells), global positioning systems (GPS), and yield monitors were used to establish multiyear ...

Drone‐imaging assisted genome‐wide association studies reveal key quantitative trait loci for emergence and late blight resistance in tetraploid potato

open access: yesCrop Science, Volume 66, Issue 2, March/April 2026.
Abstract Solanum tuberosum L. (potato) is the world's most important vegetable crop, and developing improved cultivars is paramount for global food security. The efficacy of the genomic prediction models that accelerate breeding and genome‐wide association studies (GWAS) depends on large, high‐quality phenotypic datasets, which are often associated ...

Molecular Pharming: Advances, Applications, and Future Prospects in Biotechnology and Medicine

open access: yesEngineering in Life Sciences, Volume 26, Issue 3, March 2026.
ABSTRACT Genetically engineered plants incorporate the use of a novel bioreactor known as molecular pharming, which has a transformative view on the pharmaceutical industry. The technique enables mass production, at a low cost, and reproducibly of a large number of different protein‐based drugs, vaccines, and industrial enzymes. This review‐based study
