Prenylated Flavonoids: Pharmacology and Biotechnology
Current Medicinal Chemistry, 2005Within the flavonoid class of natural products the prenylated sub-class is quite rich in structural variety and pharmacological activity. In the last twenty years a huge number of new structures has been reported, mostly from Leguminosae and Moraceae, with few coming from other genera.

Geranylated or prenylated flavonoids from Cajanus volubilis
Chinese Journal of Natural Medicines, 2023Five new flavonoid derivatives, cajavolubones A-E (1-5), along with six known analogues (6-11) were isolated from Cajanus volubilis, and their structures were elucidated by spectroscopic analysis and quantum chemical calculations. Cajavolubones A and B (1 and 2) were identified as two geranylated chalcones.

Prenylated flavonoids as tyrosinase inhibitors
Archives of Pharmacal Research, 2004In order to find new tyrosinase inhibitors and the effects of prenyl residue on flavonoid molecules, eight prenylated and three synthetic vinylated flavonoids were examined on their inhibitory effect against tyrosinase activity. From the results, kuwanon C, papyriflavonol A, sanggenon D and sophoflavescenol were found to possess the considerable ...

Cytotoxic prenylated flavonoids from Macaranga indica
Fitoterapia, 2015Three new prenylated flavonoids, macarindicins A-C (1-3), as well as seven known compounds (4-10) were isolated from the twigs of Macaranga indica. Their structures were elucidated on the basis of extensive spectroscopic interpretation. Compounds 2 and 3 enriched the diversity of prenyl moiety in genus Macaranga especially in the aspect of various ...

Cytotoxic prenylated flavonoids from Morus alba
Fitoterapia, 2010A phytochemical fractionation of the methanol extract of the Morus alba leaves led to the isolation of eleven flavonoids (1-11). The structure of the new 3'-geranyl-3-prenyl-2',4',5,7-tetrahydroxyflavone (1) was elucidated by means of spectroscopic methods.

Rare prenylated flavonoids from Tephrosia purpurea
Phytochemistry, 2009Chemical investigations of aerial parts of Tephrosia purpurea yielded the rare prenylated flavonoids, tephropurpulin A (1) and isoglabratephrin (2), in addition to a previously identified flavonoid, glabratephrin (3). Structures were established by 1D and 2D NMR spectroscopy, as well as by HR-MS analysis; for compounds 2 and 3, structures were ...
