Pretreatment out-of-pocket costs for people with drug-resistant tuberculosis in Bandung, Indonesia

open access: yesPLOS One
Background People with drug-resistant tuberculosis (DR-TB) experience multiple visits to healthcare providers before DR-TB diagnosis and treatment. Our study aimed to quantify pretreatment direct costs and factors associated with higher costs among people with DR-TB.

TAB2 Causes Neuronal Damage by Aggravating Microglia‐Mediated Neuroinflammation in Parkinson's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In microglia, STAT3 upregulates TAB2, which promotes NF‐κB activation through its NZF domain‐mediated recognition of K63‐linked ubiquitin chains, leading to inflammatory cytokine release and subsequent neuronal injury. Lumacaftor suppresses TAB2 expression and directly binds the TAB2‐NZF domain to interrupt K63 ubiquitin recognition, thereby blocking ...

HIV-1 Pretreatment and Acquired Antiretroviral Drug Resistance before tenofovir/ /lamivudine /dolutegravir (TLD) roll-out in Mozambique Running title: Pretreatment and Acquired HIV Drug Resistance in Mozambique

open access: yes
Abstract Introduction The World Health Organization (WHO) recommends that HIV treatment scale-up is accompanied by a robust assessment of drug resistance emergence and transmission. Included in the WHO HIV Drug Resistance (HIVDR) monitoring and surveillance strategy is HIVDR testing in adults both initiating and receiving antiretroviral ...

Iron‐Tannic Acid Hydrogel Mediated Mild Photothermal Therapy Combined With Ferroptosis Enhances Anti‐Tumor Immunity in Colorectal Cancer

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
An injectable gelatin‐based tannic acid–iron hydrogel with mild photothermal therapy could not only induce immunogenic cell death, but also elicit ferroptosis of both tumor cells and tumor‐associated macrophages, resulting in DC maturation, T‐cell infiltration and down‐regulation of ferroptosis‐sensitive M2‐type TAMs levels.

Chemoresistome mapping in individual breast cancer patients unravels diversity in dynamic transcriptional adaptation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology
Nongenetic adaptive resistance to chemotherapy, driven by transcriptional rewiring, is emerging as a significant mechanism in tumor survival. In this study we combined longitudinal transcriptomics with temporal pattern analysis to investigate patient ...

A New Recruitable E3 Ligase UHRF1 Supporting Targeted Protein Degradation: A Minimal Azide as a Recruitment Ligand

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Targeted protein degradation is often limited by the scarcity of usable E3 ligases. Herein, we report the first small‐molecule GPX4 degraders that incorporate either electrophilic warheads or a minimal azide group as an E3 recruitment ligand. The azide‐based degrader DK‐5070 effectively drives potent GPX4 degradation; mechanistic studies reveal that ...
