Plaque Reduction Neutralization Test (PRNT) in the Congenital Zika Syndrome: Positivity and Associations with Laboratory, Clinical, and Imaging Characteristics [PDF]
The short duration of viremia, low blood viral load, inaccessibility to timely specific diagnostic tests, and cross-reactions with other flaviviruses have hindered laboratory confirmation of Congenital Zika Syndrome (CZS).

IntroductionMany arboviruses of public health significance are maintained in zoonotic cycles with complex transmission pathways. The presence of serum antibody against arboviruses in vertebrates provides evidence of their historical exposure but reveals ...

Abstract Background As countries move towards or achieve measles elimination status, serosurveillance is an important public health tool. However, a major challenge of serosurveillance is finding a feasible, accurate, cost-effective, and high throughput assay to measure measles antibody concentrations and estimate ...

The first report of prion-related protein gene (PRNT) polymorphisms in goat [PDF]
Prion protein is encoded by the prion protein gene (PRNP). Polymorphisms of several members of the prion gene family have shown association with prion diseases in several species. Recent studies on a novel member of the prion gene family in rams have shown that prion-related protein gene (PRNT) has a linkage with codon 26 of prion-like protein (PRND ...

17DD and 17D-213/77 yellow fever substrains trigger a balanced cytokine profile in primary vaccinated children. [PDF]
BACKGROUND: This study aimed to compare the cytokine-mediated immune response in children submitted to primary vaccination with the YF-17D-213/77 or YF-17DD yellow fever (YF) substrains.

Our previous study has firstly pointed that three nucleotide variants (g.−11C > T, g.117A > G, and g.149C > T) of the goat PRNT gene can significantly influence litter size. Given litter size is positively correlated with growth performance, we consider whether the PRNT gene also acts on the growth performance in goats.
