Vegetable proteins in microencapsulation: a review of recent interventions and their effectiveness [PDF]
Proteins from vegetable seeds are interesting for research at present because they are an abundant alternative to animal-based sources of proteins and petroleum-derived polymers.

Molecular and Immunological Characterization of Gluten Proteins Isolated from Oat Cultivars That Differ in Toxicity for Celiac Disease [PDF]
A strict gluten-free diet (GFD) is the only currently available therapeutic treatment for patients with celiac disease (CD). Traditionally, treatment with a GFD has excluded wheat, barley and rye, while the presence of oats is a subject of debate.

Amino acid composition of rice prolamin polypeptides.
Rice prolamin extracted with 60 % (v/v) n-propanol from protein-rich rice bran was fractionated into individual polypeptides by SDS-polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis and isoelectric focusing. The prolamin polypeptides of 10, 13, and 16 kDa were acid hydrolized, and the amino acid composition of each polypeptide was analyzed.

Characterization of Changes in Gluten Proteins in Low-Gliadin Transgenic Wheat Lines in Response to Application of Different Nitrogen Regimes [PDF]
Gluten proteins are major determinants of the bread making quality of wheat but also of important gluten-related disorders. The gluten protein accumulation during grain filling is strongly influenced by nitrogen fertilization.

Characterisation of oat genetic resources using electrophoresis of avenins
The prolamin (avenin) patterns of oat (Avena sativa L.) cultivars released in the Czech Republic and in the former Czechoslovak Republic were analysed by acid polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis (A-PAGE).

Coeliac disease (CD) is a gastrointestinal afliction triggered by the ingestion of prolamins from wheat, barley, rye and possibly oats. The only treatment for CD is a strict diet, free of the toxic components. Immunochemical methods are usually applied to certify foods aimed at coeliac patients.
