The role of cellular fibronectin in the interaction of human endothelial cells with polymers [PDF]

open access: yes, 1993
During in-vitro adhesion, spreading and proliferation of human endothelial cells (HEC) on tissue culture polystyrene (TCPS), cellular fibronectin is deposited onto the surface of TCPS in spite of the fact that relatively large amounts of proteins have ...

Temporospatial induction of homeodomain gene cut dictates natural lineage reprogramming

open access: yeseLife, 2018
Understanding how cellular identity naturally interconverts with high efficiency and temporospatial precision is crucial for regenerative medicine. Here, we revealed a natural midgut-to-renal lineage conversion event during Drosophila metamorphosis and ...

Mitochondria and the NLRP3 Inflammasome in Alcoholic and Nonalcoholic Steatohepatitis

open access: yesCells, 2022
Alcoholic (ASH) and nonalcoholic steatohepatitis (NASH) are advanced stages of fatty liver disease and two of the most prevalent forms of chronic liver disease.

The impact of contact inhibition on collective cell migration and proliferation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Contact inhibition limits migration and proliferation of cells in cell colonies. We consider a multiphase field model to investigate the growth dynamics of a cell colony, composed of proliferating cells. The model takes into account the mechanisms of contact inhibition of locomotion and proliferation by local mechanical interactions.

Feature Proliferation -- the "Cancer" in StyleGAN and its Treatments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Despite the success of StyleGAN in image synthesis, the images it synthesizes are not always perfect and the well-known truncation trick has become a standard post-processing technique for StyleGAN to synthesize high-quality images. Although effective, it has long been noted that the truncation trick tends to reduce the diversity of synthesized images ...

Proliferation of de Sitter Space [PDF]

open access: yes, 1998
I show that de Sitter space disintegrates into an infinite number of copies of itself. This occurs iteratively through a quantum process involving two types of topology change.

A comparative study of of T regulatory cells numbers (CD4+CD25highFoxP3+CD127low) in patients under 1 year of age with cataract, glaucoma, and retinopathy of prematurity (review of the own studies)

open access: yesМедицинская иммунология
Potential involvement of immune system in pathophysiology of congenital glaucoma, cataract, and retinopathy of prematurity (ROP) in infants has been suggested. However, its understanding still remains limited.

Compensatory Proliferation Induced by Cell Death in the Drosophila Wing Disc Requires Activity of the Apical Cell Death Caspase Dronc in a Nonapoptotic Role [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
Achieving proper organ size requires a balance between proliferation and cell death. For example, at least 40%–60% of cells in the Drosophila wing disc can be lost, yet these discs go on to give rise to normal-looking adult wings as a result of ...

Cas9 exo-endonuclease eliminates chromosomal translocations during genome editing

open access: yesNature Communications, 2022
Chromosomal structural variations induced by CRISPR/Cas hinder its application in clinics. Here, the authors fuse Cas9 with optimized TREX2 to generate Cas9TX, which can prevent perfect repair and inhibit repeated cleavage.

Quasi Long Range Order and Vortex Lattice in the Three State Potts Model [PDF]

open access: yesPhys. Rev. Lett. 116, 097206 (2016), 2015
We show that the order-disorder phase transition in the three state Potts ferromagnet on a square lattice is driven by a coupled proliferation of vortices and domain walls. Raising the vortex core energy above a certain value decouples the proliferation and splits the transition into two.
