Hemodynamic Stability during Induction of Anesthesia in Elderly Patients: Propofol + Ketamine versus Propofol + Etomidate [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Cardiovascular and Thoracic Research, 2013
Introduction: Various methods have been recommended to prevent hemodynamic instability caused by propofol induction. Current study evaluates hemodynamic effects of ketamine and propofol in comparison to etomidate and propofol during anesthesia induction.

Research progress on the depth of anesthesia monitoring based on the electroencephalogram

open access: yesIbrain, Volume 11, Issue 1, Page 32-43, Spring 2025.
Electroencephalogram (EEG) can noninvasive, continuous, and real‐time monitor the state of brain electrical activity, and the monitoring of EEG can reflect changes in the depth of anesthesia (DOA). The development of artificial intelligence can enable anesthesiologists to extract, analyze, and quantify DOA from complex EEG data.

Delivery Routes and Anesthesia Affect Cord Blood NGF, BDNF, and Neonatal Outcomes

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain‐derived neurotrophin (BDNF) play a role in brain maturation. Cord blood values do not differ between vaginal delivery and CS cases. In CS cases with spinal anesthesia, high BDNF and NGF values were associated with high cord blood pH and APGAR scores.

Perbedaan Agregasi Trombosit pada Penderita yang Mendapat Propofol dan Penthotal

open access: yesJAI (Jurnal Anestesiologi Indonesia), 2010
Latar belakang: Perdarahan perioperatif merupakan masalah yang sering dihadapi dalam setiap operasi. Penggunaan obat anestesi induksi mempunyai pengaruh menghambat agregasi trombosit. Propofol dan Penthotal mempengaruhi Agregasi Trombosit.

Propofol‐induced hypertriglyceridemia in critically ill trauma patients requiring nutrition therapy: A descriptive cohort study

open access: yesJournal of Parenteral and Enteral Nutrition, EarlyView.
Abstract Background This study aimed to assess the incidence and identify risk factors associated with the development of propofol‐induced hypertriglyceridemia in critically ill trauma patients who required nutrition therapy. Methods Adult patients (aged >17 years) admitted to the trauma intensive care unit who received propofol for >24 h and had a ...

An electrophysiological study of the interaction between fenamate NSAIDs and the GABA(_A) receptor [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
The effects of certain NSAIDs were determined on agonist-evoked responses recorded from rat neurones maintained in vitro using electrophysiological techniques. Initially, the rat isolated vagus and optic nerves were employed. Alphaxalone, pentobarbitone,

Ultrasound‐Guided Thoracic Paravertebral Block With Liposomal Versus Standard Bupivacaine for Older Patients After Thoracoscopic Surgery

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The study aimed to investigate the effect of thoracic paravertebral block (TPVB) with liposomal bupivacaine (LB) before anesthesia induction on postoperative pain, quality of recovery (QoR), and opioid consumption in older patients after video‐assisted thoracoscopic surgery (VATS).
