Delivery Routes and Anesthesia Affect Cord Blood NGF, BDNF, and Neonatal Outcomes
Journal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.Nerve growth factor (NGF) and brain‐derived neurotrophin (BDNF) play a role in brain maturation. Cord blood values do not differ between vaginal delivery and CS cases. In CS cases with spinal anesthesia, high BDNF and NGF values were associated with high cord blood pH and APGAR scores.
