Lysosome‐Featured Cell Aggregate‐Released Extracellular Vesicles Regulate Iron Homeostasis and Alleviate Post‐Irradiation Endothelial Ferroptosis for Mandibular Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Lysosomal redistribution occurs via extracellular vesicles in multi‐stem cell aggregates and controls iron homeostasis for safeguarding cell aggregation. These cell aggregate‐released extracellular vesicles (CA‐EVs) rescue lysosomal impairments and exert anti‐ferroptosis effects in recipient irradiated endothelial cells.

Preparative thin-layer and column chromatography of prostaglandins

open access: yesJournal of Lipid Research, 1969
Analytical and preparative chromatographic methods for monounsaturated prostaglandins are described. The systems were developed specifically for separation of the various hydroxy epimers of prostaglandin E1 and F1 but also offer superior separations for ...

Contribution of Prostaglandin E2‐Induced Neuronal Excitation to Drug Resistance in Glioblastoma Countered by a Novel Blood–Brain Barrier Crossing Celecoxib Derivative

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Glioblastoma (GBM) is an aggressive brain cancer that often recurs and resists chemotherapy. This study found that a chemical called PGE2 causes surrounding brain cells (neurons) to become over‐excited, which makes GBM cells resistant to treatment. Researchers developed a new drug, “Compound 11,” which can cross into the brain and effectively block ...

An Atomically Dispersed Photocatalyst for Undirected para‐Selective C─H Bond Functionalizations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
This study presents an atomically dispersed recyclable heterogeneous photocatalytic method for para‐selective trifluoromethylation of electron‐deficient arenes without directing groups. Unlike previous substrate‐dependent approaches, this recyclable, atomically dispersed photocatalyst enables scalable synthesis of bioactive trifluoromethylated ...

Half‐Pipe Melt Electrowritten Scaffolds Support Engineering of an Immunocompetent Hydrogel‐Embedded Intestine‐on‐a‐Chip

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The immunocompetent Intestine‐on‐a‐Chip (IoC) is developed using melt electrowritten (MEW) half‐pipes. Intestinal epithelial cell (IEC) culture is optimized in the MEW‐based IoC, followed by co‐culture with monocyte‐derived dendritic cells (moDCs) and T cells in 3D hydrogels.

Intramolecular Lithiation‐Borylation for the Stereoselective Synthesis of Cyclopentyl and Cyclobutyl Bis‐Boronic Esters

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Cyclopentyl and cyclobutyl 1,3‐bis‐boronic esters have been prepared from benzylic carbamates with excellent regio‐, diastereo‐ and enantioselectivity. The method enables the asymmetric cycloalkanes bearing bis‐boronic esters which can be manipulated independently. Abstract Saturated carbocycles are common motifs in natural products and pharmaceuticals,

Conserved and species-specific oxylipin pathways in the wound-activated chemical defense of the noninvasive red alga Gracilaria chilensis and the invasive Gracilaria vermiculophylla

open access: yesBeilstein Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2012
Chemical defense of the invasive red alga Gracilaria vermiculophylla has been studied and compared to that of the noninvasive but related Gracilaria chilensis. Both species rely on a wound-activated chemical defense that makes them less attractive to the

Prostaglandins posttranscriptionally inhibit monocyte expression of interleukin 1 activity by increasing intracellular cyclic adenosine monophosphate.

open access: yesJournal of Immunology, 1986
The effect of prostaglandins and cyclic 3',5'-adenosine monophosphate (cAMP) on expression of human interleukin 1 (IL 1) activity was investigated in the promonocytic tumor cell line U937 and peripheral blood monocytes.
