The Protective Antigen of a Highly Immunogenic Strain of Clostridium chauvoei Including an Evaluation of Its Flagella as a Protective Antigen [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of General Microbiology, 1974
SUMMARY: Evidence suggesting that the flagella of the highly immunogenic Clostridium chauvoei, strain ch3, may be important in stimulating protective immunity was studied by preparing a pure flagellar suspension from the organism and comparing the protective antigenicity of the flagellar suspension and deflagellated cells.

Changes in Biomodels in Response to Recombinant Protective Anthrax Antigen Inoculation

open access: yesПроблемы особо опасных инфекций, 2013
one. The data obtained has substantiated the lack of an expressed damaging effect of the recombinant protective antigen on the cells and tissues of the macroorganism, as well as possibility of its application as one of the core components of the ...

Evaluation of mPEG-PLA nanoparticles as vaccine delivery system for modified protective antigen of Bacillus anthracis [PDF]

open access: yesNanomedicine Journal, 2021
Objective(s): Bacillus anthracis is the cause of the fatal anthrax. Available anthrax vaccines have low stability and require multiple injections in order to be effective.

Vaxformer: Antigenicity-controlled Transformer for Vaccine Design Against SARS-CoV-2 [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
The SARS-CoV-2 pandemic has emphasised the importance of developing a universal vaccine that can protect against current and future variants of the virus. The present study proposes a novel conditional protein Language Model architecture, called Vaxformer, which is designed to produce natural-looking antigenicity-controlled SARS-CoV-2 spike proteins ...

Fluctuating fitness shapes the clone size distribution of immune repertoires [PDF]

open access: yesPNAS 113 (2) 274-279 (2016), 2015
The adaptive immune system relies on the diversity of receptors expressed on the surface of B and T-cells to protect the organism from a vast amount of pathogenic threats. The proliferation and degradation dynamics of different cell types (B cells, T cells, naive, memory) is governed by a variety of antigenic and environmental signals, yet the observed

Salmonella Vaccines: Conduits for Protective Antigens [PDF]

open access: yesThe Journal of Immunology, 2018
Abstract Vaccines afford a better and more cost-effective approach to combatting infectious diseases than continued reliance on antibiotics or antiviral or antiparasite drugs in the current era of increasing incidences of diseases caused by drug-resistant pathogens.

Design and expression of TolC as a recombinant protein vaccine against Shigella flexneri and evaluation of immunogenic response in mice [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Background: Shigella is one of the major cause of dysenteric diarrhea, which is known shigelosis. Shigelosis causes 160,000 deaths annually of diarrheal disease in a global scale especially children less than 5 years old. No licensed vaccine is available against shigelosis, therefore, efforts for develop an effective and safe vaccine against shigella ...
