Influence of phytopreparations on rat parodont state at experimental metabolic syndrome

open access: yesJournal of Education, Health and Sport, 2017
Aim: To investigate periodontoprotective action of 2 phytopreparations: husks of grapes meal and oak extract at the metabolic syndrome. Methods: The metabolic syndrome was reproduced into rats by used high fat diet, dysbiosis and introduced cytostatic.

Heterodimeric BMP-2/7 antagonizes the inhibition of all-trans retinoic acid and promotes the osteoblastogenesis. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2013
OBJECTIVES: Hypervitaminosis A and alcoholism can result in a low mineral density and compromised regenerative capacity of bone, thus delaying implant osteointegration.

A brain phosphatase with specificity for microtubule-associated protein-2.

open access: yesJournal of Biological Chemistry, 1986
A protein phosphatase has been isolated from brain using, as assay substrate throughout the purification, microtubule-associated protein-2 which had been phospho-labeled by its associated kinase. In contrast to other protein phosphatases, this phosphatase can effectively release phosphate from both the microtubule-binding and projection domains of ...

Identification of the protein kinases Pyk3 and Phg2 as regulators of the STATc-mediated response to hyperosmolarity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Cellular adaptation to changes in environmental osmolarity is crucial for cell survival. In Dictyostelium, STATc is a key regulator of the transcriptional response to hyperosmotic stress. Its phosphorylation and consequent activation is controlled by two

EDNRB‐dependent endothelin signaling reduces proliferation and promotes proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition in gliomas

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Glioma cells mainly express the endothelin receptor EDNRB, while EDNRA is restricted to a perivascular tumor subpopulation. Endothelin signaling reduces glioma cell proliferation while promoting migration and a proneural‐to‐mesenchymal transition associated with poor prognosis. This pathway activates Ca2+, K+, ERK, and STAT3 signalings and is regulated

Interrogating the immune landscape of microsatellite stable RAS‐mutated colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
COLOSSUS project RAS‐mutated MSS colon cancer study explored transcriptomics and immune cell density by immunohistochemistry (IHC), Immunoscore (IS), ISIC/TuLIS scores, mutation counts, and detected different prevalences but similar microenvironment composition across immune markers with clinical relevance for future immunotherapy combination ...

Characterization of the function of a novel protein tyrosine phophatase predicted by the genome sequence of Arabidopsis thaliana [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
Covalent modification of proteins by reversible phosphorylation, catalysed by specific protein kinases and phosphatases, is an important mechanism for enzyme activity regulation in metabolism and signalling pathways.

IMPDH inhibition enhances cytarabine efficacy in SAMHD1‐expressing leukaemia cells via guanine nucleotide depletion

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Cytarabine is a key therapy for acute myeloid leukaemia (AML), but its efficacy is limited by the dNTPase SAMHD1, which hydrolyses its active metabolite. Screening nucleotide biosynthesis inhibitors revealed that IMPDH inhibitors selectively sensitise SAMHD1‐proficient AML cells to cytarabine.

The rim15-Endosulfine-PP2ACdc55 signalling module regulates entry into gametogenesis and quiescence via distinct mechanisms in budding yeast [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
Quiescence and gametogenesis represent two distinct survival strategies in response to nutrient starvation in budding yeast. Precisely how environmental signals are sensed by yeast cells to trigger quiescence and gametogenesis is not fully understood.
