An Efficient Explicit-time Description Method for Timed Model Checking [PDF]

open access: yesEPTCS 14, 2009, pp. 77-91, 2009
Timed model checking, the method to formally verify real-time systems, is attracting increasing attention from both the model checking community and the real-time community. Explicit-time description methods verify real-time systems using general model constructs found in standard un-timed model checkers.

Evaluation of a Prolonged Prothrombin Time [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry, 2008
A 47-year-old African American woman was evaluated for a prolonged prothrombin time (PT) result obtained before she underwent right total hip arthroplasty. The patient had no history of gastrointestinal or intracranial bleeding, epistaxis, or hemarthrosis.

Potential clinical benefits of warfarin in end‐stage cancers: A retrospective analysis

open access: yesHealth Science Reports, 2023
Background and Aims Coagulopathy and thromboembolism are common comorbidities in cancer, and anticoagulants, such as warfarin, are needed in specific situations. This study aimed to determine the clinical relevance of prothrombin time (PT) monitoring and

Development of a Machine Learning Model and Mobile Application to Aid in Predicting Dosage of Vitamin K Antagonists Among Indian Patients [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Patients who undergo mechanical heart valve replacements or have conditions like Atrial Fibrillation have to take Vitamin K Antagonists (VKA) drugs to prevent coagulation of blood. These drugs have narrow therapeutic range and need to be very closely monitored due to life threatening side effects.

Long Time Response of Aging Glassy Polymers [PDF]

open access: yesRheologica Acta (2014) 53, 477-488, 2014
Aging amorphous polymeric materials undergo free volume relaxation, which causes slowing down of the relaxation dynamics as a function of time. The resulting time dependency poses difficulties in predicting their long time physical behavior. In this work, we apply effective time domain approach to the experimental data on aging amorphous polymers and ...

The risk of early mortality of polytrauma patients associated to ISS, NISS, APACHE II values and prothrombin time

open access: yesJournal of Trauma Management & Outcomes, 2013
BackgroundThe early hemodynamic normalization of polytrauma patients may lead to better survival outcomes. The aim of this study was to assess the diagnostic quality of trauma and physiological scores from widely used scoring systems in polytrauma ...

Tumor Microenvironment Triggered In Situ Coagulation of Supramolecularly Engineered Platelets for Precise Tumor Embolization

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Occlusion of tumor blood vessels represents a promising yet challenging approach in cancer treatment. Herein, supramolecularly engineered platelets conjugated with morphology‐transformable nanoparticles is developed for precise tumor embolization. The engineered platelets actively accumulate at tumor sites following induced blood vessel injury.

A Novel Prothrombin Time Assay for Assessing the Anticoagulant Activity of Oral Factor Xa Inhibitors

open access: yesClinical and applied thrombosis/hemostasis, 2013
Conventional prothrombin time (PT) assays have limited sensitivity and dynamic range in monitoring the anticoagulant activity of direct factor Xa inhibitors. Hence, new assays are needed.

Electroactive Electrospun Nanofibrous Scaffolds: Innovative Approaches for Improved Skin Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This review explores the potential of electroactive electrospun nanofibrous (EEN) scaffolds for enhanced skin wound healing. It discusses how a variety of electroactive materials can be prepared into EEN scaffolds via electrospinning technology, and their applications in various wound types. The review provides insights into the future perspectives for
