Dynamical Behaviour of a Time Delay Model of the ERK and STAT5 Interaction [PDF]
In this paper we have done sensitive analysis of a time delay model which describes the ERK and STAT5 interaction. The results show that the type of the equilibrium point of the model can be a compound saddle-focus or a compound saddle-knot.

Genetic aspects of etiology and development of thyroid gland cancer [PDF]
Recent studies on thyroid gland cancer development and progression have identified new classes of tumor markers, proto-oncogenes, tumor-suppressing genes, cell receptor genes, identified genetic tumor-predisposing polymorphism and some other ...

The expression of tumour suppressors and proto-oncogenes in tissues susceptible to their hereditary cancers. [PDF]
BackgroundStudies of familial cancers have found that only a small subset of tissues are affected by inherited mutations in a given tumour suppressor gene (TSG) or proto-oncogene (POG), even though the mutation is present in all tissues.

Characterization of Leukemia-Inducing Genes Using a Proto-Oncogene/Homeobox Gene Retroviral Human cDNA Library in a Mouse In Vivo Model. [PDF]
The purpose of this research is to develop a method to screen a large number of potential driver mutations of acute myeloid leukemia (AML) using a retroviral cDNA library and murine bone marrow transduction-transplantation system.

ProtoPred: Advancing Oncological Research Through Identification of Proto-Oncogene Proteins
Proto-oncogenes are the genes that have the potential to transform normal cells into cancer cells as a result of mutations. They usually contain encoding of proteins whose function is to inhibit cell differentiation, stimulate cell division, and prevent ...

Insertional Oncogenesis by Non-Acute Retroviruses: Implications for Gene Therapy
Retroviruses cause cancers in a variety of animals and humans. Research on retroviruses has provided important insights into mechanisms of oncogenesis in humans, including the discovery of viral oncogenes and cellular proto-oncogenes. The subject of this

Detection of oncogene rearrangements in human non-Hodgkin's lymphomas. [PDF]
Southern blot hybridization was used to detect the rearrangement and amplification of five proto-oncogenes (bcl-2, bcl-1, c-myc, c-myb and c-Ha-ras) and one tumor suppressor gene (RB-1) in 55 Japanese patients with non-Hodgkin's lymphoma; 16 with T-cell ...
