Induction and Enhancement of Bacteriocin Production (Review)
ABSTRACT Conventionally, bacteriocins are produced by microorganisms on complex substrates, released as semi‐purified preparations or crude fermentates. These bacteriocin‐containing products often exhibit unsatisfactory purity, low active‐substance content, and high production costs, limiting their commercialization and use. This review aims to analyze

Construction of acetoin high-producing Bacillus subtilis strain
This paper describes the construction and selection of a high-producing mutant, Bacillus subtilis HB-32, with enhanced acetoin yield and productivity. The mutant was obtained by the protoplast fusion of a Bacillus subtilis mutant TH-49 (Val−) producing ...

Viscosity of concentrated mRNA solutions: Implications for downstream processing
Abstract Messenger RNA (mRNA) therapeutics can be used to protect against infectious disease and for the treatment of cancers and genetic disorders. In order to obtain the desired therapeutic dosage, it is necessary to concentrate the mRNA to levels where the viscosity of the mRNA solutions can become significant.

Fusion of cell sap vacuoles subsequent to protoplast fusion
The fusion of protoplasts isolated from leaves of Catharanthus roseus and Nicotiana glauca with protoplasts from Haplopappus gracilis cell cultures resulted in heavy precipitation of granules in vacuoles of the fusion products.

Perls–TEM–STEM‐HAADF–EDS enables high‐resolution localization and elemental characterization of Fe‐containing deposits in Rhizophora mangle leaf cells. ABSTRACT Mangrove ecosystems are frequently exposed to high concentrations of iron (Fe) in sediments, resulting in Fe accumulation in plant tissues. Although Fe is an essential micronutrient involved in

Molecular Characterization of Intraspecific Protoplast Fusion in Trichoderma Harzianum [PDF]
: Protoplast was isolated from two fungicide tolerant mutants PTz-C and PTz-F of T. harzianum, obtained from 18 h old mycelium digested by Novozyme 234 and fused by polyethylene glycol (PEG). The frequency of fusion resulting in double fungicide tolerant

Salt‐induced nutritional and metabolic shifts in halophytes: implications for food security
Abstract Plant species vary in their response to salinity: some crops show a degree of salt tolerance, while halophytes – whether wild or cultivated – are characterized by a high capacity to thrive under saline conditions. Halophytes are considered a source of valuable secondary metabolites with potential economic value, yet they might also produce ...

Harnessing plant susceptibility genes into strategies for enhanced disease resistance
Integrated model of S gene modules in plant pathogen interactions. This model summarises representative host susceptibility modules that can be exploited by bacterial, fungal and viral pathogens. In the bacterial infection module, Xanthomonas transcription activator‐like effectors activate OsSWEET14 through effector‐binding elements in its promoter ...
