Protoplast isolation from leaf mesophyll of sugarbeet Beta vulgaris L. axenic seedlings

open access: yesمجلة مركز بحوث التقنيات الاحيائية, 2013
Protoplasts were isolated from leaf mesophyll of sugarbeet (Beta vulgaris L.) axenic seedlings. Eight enzyme mixtures were tested for cell wall degrading ability.

Natural variation in the promoter of OsPDX1.2 enhances vitamin B6 accumulation and cold tolerance in rice

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Allelic variation in the promoter of the pyridoxal phosphate synthase OsPDX1.2 caused variation in the ACE‐box cis‐elements, resulting in differing OsPDX1.2 expression due to differences in binding affinity between the OsbZIP18 transcriptipn factor and the ACE‐box, contributing to variation in vitamin B6 levels and cold tolerance among rice varieties ...

Enhancement production of qinlingmycin by a soilderived Streptomyces No. 24 using protoplast fusion technology and assessment of antibacterial activity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2013
This study was aimed at improving qinlingmycin production by protoplast fusion technology for Streptomyces No. 24 and mutant strain Ms-24. In the protoplast preparation, the optimal glycine concentration, lysozyme concentration and lytic time were 0.25%,

CP32, a novel anti‐oomycete cyclic peptide, interferes with cell‐wall deposition in Phytophthora infestans

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The small cyclic peptide CP32 effectively inhibits Phytophthora infestans, the causal agent of potato and tomato late blight. Combined biochemical and phenotypic analyses demonstrate that CP32 disrupts cell wall biosynthesis, a key process in pathogen infection, resulting in a marked reduction of disease symptoms in plants.

Natural variation in the GNH1 promoter enhances plant height and grain yield in rice

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
Natural variation in the GRAIN NUMBER AND PLANT HEIGHT 1 (GNH1) promoter alleviates repression by the C2H2‐type transcription factor ZFP36, upregulating GNH1 expression and promoting auxin accumulation, thereby increasing rice plant height and grain yield. This elite allele serves as a valuable genetic resource for molecular breeding of high‐yield rice.

TaHDA1‐mediated histone and non‐histone deacetylation orchestrates drought tolerance in wheat

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
The histone deacetylase TaHDA1 is a key regulator linking histone and non‐histone deacetylation with drought adaptation and a potential target for improving drought resilience and grain nutritional quality in wheat. ABSTRACT Drought stress severely constrains wheat (Triticum aestivum L.) growth and productivity.
