Single-Cell Transcriptomics Reveals the FA9-VAP Module Regulating Fatty Acid Accumulation in Soybean Seeds. [PDF]

open access: yesPlant Biotechnol J
ABSTRACT As a major commercial legume crop, soybean ranks among the world's most significant sources of edible oil and plant protein. We previously identified a SEIPIN homologue (FA9) at the fatty acid 9 locus that promotes fatty acid accumulation in soybean.

Plant cis‐regulatory grammar: Decoding the multidimensional code of transcriptional regulation for programmable crop engineering

open access: yesJournal of Integrative Plant Biology, EarlyView.
This review decodes the grammar of plant cis‐regulatory elements, revealing that their function emerges from sequence, chromatin accessibility, 3D topology, and cell type context. It highlights how single‐cell omics, CRISPR dissection, and AI‐driven design converge to enable predictive engineering and crop improvement. ABSTRACT Cis‐regulatory elements (

Colorimetry in Nuclear Fusion Research

open access: yes, 2022
0000-0001-5522-3082Colorimetry is a unique technique among research fields. The technique is also utilized in nuclear fusion research. The motivation is to evaluate the wide range of distribution of the deposition layer on the surface of the vacuum ...

α‐1,3‐Glucan Is Required for Cell Wall Integrity and Full Virulence of Colletotrichum graminicola, but Not for Evasion of PAMP‐Triggered Immunity

open access: yesMolecular Microbiology, EarlyView.
Abbreviated Summary The role of the major fungal cell wall polymer α‐1,3‐glucan in plant infection is poorly understood. Deletion mutants of the maize anthracnose fungus Colletotrichum graminicola lacking all three α‐1,3‐glucan synthase genes differentiated severely distorted biotrophic hyphae in planta, and virulence was strongly reduced.

Ultrastructural Analysis of Electrofused Protoplasts from Pansy and Wild Viola by Scanning Electron Microscopy

open access: yesPlant Production Science, 1998
Ultrastructural changes during the fusion of the protoplasts isolated from wild viola callus (without chloroplasts) and pansy mesophyll cells (with chloroplasts) were examined by scanning electron microscopy (SEM) and transmission electron microscopy ...

Dodder seedlings benefit from apoplastic nutrition by inducing SWEET15‐mediated unloading of sucrose from the host's phloem

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Cuscuta reflexa infection sites. Summary Cuscuta species are holoparasitic plants that penetrate host stems with haustoria, connect to the vasculature and exhaust water, nutrients and carbohydrates. Parasite seedlings possess only limited maternal reserves and the development of a vascular connection takes several days.

Protoplast fusion in Bacillus Megaterium QM B1551

open access: yes, 1983
This thesis represents work done to determine the optimal conditions for protoplast formation and regeneration of Bacillus megaterium QM B1551 and- to study the possibility that PEG-induced protoplast fusion might be used to establish linkage between ...

Cell‐based crop phenotyping for future climates

open access: yesNew Phytologist, EarlyView.
Flow‐chart diagram illustrating the proposed pathway for improving the throughput of fluorescence imaging‐based phenotyping by using robotics and machine learning (ML) approaches. Summary Abiotic stress tolerance has been significantly weakened in modern crops during the domestication process.

Protoplast Fusion and Brassica Improvement

open access: yes, 2003
76-84Brassica coenospecies has been bestowed with a large collection of wild and weedy relatives, which could act as donors of genes controlling agronomically important traits like disease resistance, yield attributes, modified fatty acid composition
