Microbiome—pancreatic cancer crosstalk: From tumor biology to therapeutic intervention

open access: yesiMetaOmics, EarlyView.
The intratumoral microbiome acts as a critical regulator in pancreatic cancer progression and therapeutic resistance. This comprehensive review delineates the origins of pancreatic microbes, elucidates their multifaceted mechanisms in driving immune suppression, metabolic reprogramming, and stromal desmoplasia, and highlights the clinical potential of ...

The plant microbiome: From ecological foundations to precision microbial engineering for sustainable agriculture

open access: yesiMeta, EarlyView.
From ecological principles to precision engineering of plant microbiomes for sustainable agriculture. The plant holobiont integrates diverse microbial niches (including rhizosphere, endosphere, phyllosphere, seed, and aerial‐root mucilagesphere), host genetics (namely M genes), and host metabolites. Furthermore, molecular dialogues, including rhizobial

Pseudomonas spinosa n. sp. [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Bulletin of Bacteriological Nomenclature and Taxonomy, 1962
ABSTRACT A new species of Pseudomonas is described which in its native river-water habitat characteristically has a curved soma with many straight spine-like structures, but no flagella. In pure culture the organism has a very long polar flagellum, a fairly straight soma with several round inclusions. It is psychrophilic and rather halophobic and shows

A Comprehensive Study of Bidirectional Interactions Between the Human Microbiome and Blood Malignancies and Hematologic Conditions: Focus on Novel Therapeutic Strategies

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
Microbiota‐targeted therapeutic strategies in hematological disorders. aHSCT: Transplanted immune cells from the donor may attack the recipient's tissues, especially when damage to the intestinal epithelium disrupts the gut microbiota, contributing to GVHD. Maintaining a balanced gut microbiota that supports immune regulation helps reduce GVHD risk and

Comparative study on the degradation of dibutyl phthalate by two newly isolated Pseudomonas sp. V21b and Comamonas sp. 51F

open access: yesBiotechnology Reports, 2017
Dibutyl phthalate is (DBP) the top priority toxicant responsible for carcinogenicity, teratogenicity and endocrine disruption. This study demonstrates the DBP degradation capability of the two newly isolated bacteria from municipal solid waste leachate ...

Detecting Antibiotic Resistance in Strains of Selected Gram‐Negative Bacterial Species Using Raman Spectroscopy

open access: yesJournal of Raman Spectroscopy, EarlyView.
Raman spectroscopy successfully identified antibiotic‐resistant Gram‐negative strains. Resistant strains of four bacterial species were discriminated from sensitive ones with 99.1% accuracy using PLS regression. The method allows for rapid, label‐free detection of antibiotic resistance.

Pseudomonas boreofloridensis sp. nov., and Pseudomonas citrulli sp. nov., isolated from watermelon in Florida

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic and Evolutionary Microbiology
Three fluorescent bacterial strains, K1, K13 and K18, were obtained from watermelon (Citrullus lanatus) foliage symptomatic of bacterial leaf spot of cucurbits in Florida. The strains underwent phenotypic characterization, including LOPAT (levan production, oxidase activity, pectolytic activity on potato, arginine dihydrolase production and ...
