Prevalence, Risk Factors, Lung Function, and Associated Comorbidities of Adult Preserved Ratio Impaired Spirometry: A Meta‐Analysis

open access: yesMedComm, Volume 6, Issue 6, June 2025.
Comprehensive evidence on PRIsm prevalence, risk factors, lung function, and comorbidities is limited. We performed a meta‐analysis of 32 studies with 1,196,856 participants and found PRISm prevalence at 11%, with risk factors like age, body mass index, smoking, and education. Cardiovascular and endocrine comorbidities are common in PRISm.

Hybrid method for estimating lung ventilation from CT by combining intensity and motion information

open access: yesMedical Physics, Volume 52, Issue 6, Page 4528-4539, June 2025.
Abstract Background Functional lung imaging modalities allow for capturing regional lung ventilation information. Computed Tomography based ventilation imaging (CTVI) has been proposed as a surrogate modality that relies on time‐resolved anatomical data and image processing. However, generating accurate ventilation maps using solely computed tomography

An evaluation of the correlation between haematological biomarkers in cats affected with periodontal disease stages 3 and 4

open access: yesVeterinary Record Open, Volume 12, Issue 1, June 2025.
Abstract Background Periodontal disease is the most common disease of the tooth‐supporting apparatus in dogs and cats. Identifying factors associated with periodontal disease early through minimally invasive, fast and cost‐effective methods, such as a simple blood test, may improve treatment outcomes.
