Construction of Chronic Kidney Disease Mouse Model Induced by Diets With Different Adenine Content

open access: yesFood Safety and Health, EarlyView.
By administering a 4 weeks adenine diet to C57BL/6J mice, we identified 0.2% adenine in purified feed as the optimal chronic kidney disease model. This model induces severe renal damage, gut dysbiosis, uremic toxin accumulation, and CKD mineral bone disorder, providing a clinically relevant platform for mechanistic and therapeutic studies.

Effects of Low Temperature–Ultrasound–Papain (LTUP) Combined Treatments on Purine Removal from Pork Loin and Its Influence on Meat Quality and Nutritional Value

open access: yesFoods
A combined pretreatment method of “low temperature-ultrasound-papain” (LTUP) was proposed to remove the purine of pork loins. Compared with untreated pork loin, under optimal conditions (temperature 58 °C, ultrasound density 100 W/cm2, and papain ...

Adss1–HDAC3 Interaction: A Novel Mechanism for Epigenetic Regulation of Metabolism in Adipose Tissue

open access: yesiNew Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Obesity and its related metabolic disorders have emerged as global public health challenges with underlying mechanisms involving an imbalance between energy storage and expenditure in the adipose tissue. In recent years, with the deepening research on adipose tissue metabolism, the cross talk between metabolic enzymes and epigenetic regulation

Alterations in brain metabolites in rats with experimental periodontitis: A metabolomic approach

open access: yesJournal of Periodontology, EarlyView.
Abstract Background Periodontitis (PD) is a chronic inflammatory disease with systemic effects. Emerging evidence suggests a link between periodontal inflammation and neurological changes, but the biochemical mechanisms in key brain regions, such as the hippocampus and amygdala, remain unclear.
