Hominoid‐specific calretinin‐immunopositivity of the optic radiation (geniculocalcarine tract)
Calretinin‐immunostained coronal section through the primary (V1) and extrastriate (ExSt) cortex of the lar gibbon. Note that the optic radiation (OR) is strongly calretinin‐immunoreactive. This calretinin‐immunopositivity of the OR distinguishes the Hominoidea from other primates in terms of the neurochemistry of the OR.

Maternal choline supplementation (MCS) is utilized in the Ts65Dn mouse model of Down syndrome (DS) and Alzheimer's disease (AD). At ~6 months of age, laser capture microdissection and single population RNA‐sequencing of three hippocampal neuron populations (CA1 and CA3 pyramidal neurons and dentate gyrus granule cells) were conducted.

A CACNA2D2‐Related Recessive Form of Cerebellar Abiotrophy in Angus Cattle
ABSTRACT Cerebellar disease in ruminants is often virus‐induced and non‐genetic, but there are also rare inherited forms of cerebellar hypoplasia and cerebellar abiotrophy (CA). So far, no causal variant has been reported for these conditions in cattle. Two inbred Angus calves suspected of having cerebellar disease were reported in Scotland.

Objective Traumatic brain injury (TBI) is an established risk factor for dementia, although the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. Our previous research demonstrated that a single severe TBI in wild‐type (WT) mice induces a prion‐like form of tau (tauTBI) that spreads throughout the brain, leading to memory deficits.
