Sensitivity Threshold for Selected Aromas and Defects in Casual Wine Consumers

open access: yesJournal of Sensory Studies, Volume 41, Issue 2, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Wine aromas and faults are caused by chemical compounds impacting wine quality that can originate from viticulture, vinification, bottling, or aging. Wine professionals are highly trained to recognize and assess quality indicators including characteristic aromas and faults/defects.

Effect of fermentation region on the volatile compounds and sensory characteristics of soy sauce mash

open access: yesJournal of the Science of Food and Agriculture, Volume 106, Issue 4, Page 2190-2199, 15 March 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Regional environmental conditions, particularly temperature, significantly affect the fermentation characteristics of traditional fermented foods. This study investigated how regional variations influence the volatile aroma compounds and sensory aroma attributes of soy sauce mash fermented in different locations in Korea.

Schnelle RASER‐MRT

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, Volume 138, Issue 10, 2 March 2026.
Schnelle RASER‐MRT ermöglicht Bildgebung ohne RF‐Anregung.

Rapid RASER MRI

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 10, 2 March 2026.
Rapid RASER MRI allows for image acquisition without RF excitation. Instead, a population inversion on the nuclear spins is generated by SABRE hyperpolarization, which allows for self‐excitation through the RASER approach. When the desired transverse magnetization is built‐up, conventional EPI encoding is triggered to record the image.

[1,2,5]Thiadiazolo[3,4-b]pyrazine-5,6(4H,7H)-dione

open access: yesMolbank
Fused 1,2,5-chalcogenadiazoles are often used as biologically active compounds and organic optovoltaic materials. [1,2,5]Thiadiazolo[3,4-b]pyrazines are much less studied due to difficulties in their preparation. In this communication, [1,2,5]thiadiazolo[

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

High‐Performance Flexible Near‐Infrared Organic Light‐Emitting Diodes with a Heterogeneous Alloy Semitransparent Electrode

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 17, 20 March 2026.
This study presents a micro‐structured magnesium‐bismuth alloy electrode that enhances flexible NIR OLEDs. The electrode provides 40% broadband transmittance (400–1600 nm) and boosts light outcoupling efficiency (42.3%) and photoluminescence quantum yield (71.8%) through the Purcell effect in optical microcavities.
