Enhanced CO Selectivity in CO2 Electroreduction on Pyrazole‐Modified Boron‐Doped Diamond Electrodes

open access: yesChemElectroChem, Volume 13, Issue 6, 17 March 2026.
Electrochemical CO2 reduction is demonstrated using molecularly modified boron‐doped diamond electrodes. Pyrazole modification doubles the CO selectivity compared to the previous aniline‐modified surface. This enhancement arises from the synergistic effect of the adjacent nitrogen atoms in pyrazole, which provides both high nucleophilicity for CO2 ...

Bis‐Furans: A Sustainable Source of Diverse Molecular Architectures

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 10, 9 March 2026.
A concise synthetic route to diverse acyclic and heterocyclic compounds has been developed by combining hetero‐Diels–Alder reactions, DBU‐promoted ring openings, and Lewis base‐catalyzed annulations. Nitrosoalkenes reacted with furan derivatives to form 4a,7a‐dihydro‐4H‐furo[2,3‐e][1,2]oxazines, which underwent DBU‐promoted rearrangements to 6H‐1,2 ...

Doxorubicin‐Loaded Metal–Organic Framework for Ferroptosis‐Enhanced Chemotherapy Through Sustained Zn Release and Glutathione Peroxidase Downregulation

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A robust zinc‐based metal–organic framework (ZnMOF) enables dual functions of doxorubicin delivery and sustained Zn2+ release to trigger ferroptosis‐enhnaced chemotherapy. DOX@ZnMOF effectively depletes intracellular glutathione, suppresses GPX4, and elevates reactive oxygen species, leading to efficient oxidative DNA damage and apoptosis.

Synthesis of Heterocyclic Compounds Derived from 2-Mercapto Quinoline

open access: yesIbn Al-Haitham Journal for Pure and Applied Sciences, 2017
2-Mercapto quinoline was used as precursor for synthesis of new heterocyclic derivatives of quinoline nucleus such as pyrazole (3), pyrazolone (4), 1,3,4-oxadiazole (5) and 1,2,4-triazole (8). New Schiff bases (9a-e) were obtained from the reaction of

Dual‐Functional Polyphosphoesters for Gene Delivery: Synergistic Effects of Guanidinium and Hydrophobic Side Chains in Degradable Polymers

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, Volume 15, Issue 9, 6 March 2026.
This study presents guanidinium‐ and indole‐functionalized polyphosphoesters as degradable, non‐viral gene delivery vectors. Through precise tuning of charge density and hydrophobicity, these polymers form stable polyplexes with low toxicity. Remarkably, minor structural changes yield up to 200‐fold differences in transfection efficiency, highlighting ...

Crystal Engineering of Reticular Materials for Gas‐ and Liquid‐Phase Hydrocarbon Separation

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, Volume 38, Issue 16, 17 March 2026.
Crystal engineering enables systematic study of structure/function relationships as exemplified by pore engineering of reticular sorbents, including porous coordination networks and covalent organic frameworks. This review assesses such studies applied across the full scope of industrially relevant hydrocarbon separations to provide insight into how ...

Design, synthesis, and bioevaluation of pyrazole-containing tubulin polymerisation inhibitors based on conformational constraint strategy

open access: yesJournal of Enzyme Inhibition and Medicinal Chemistry
Based on conformational preference of SMART analogues and conformational constraint strategy, two series of new tubulin polymerisation inhibitors (4a − 4k and 5a − 5h/6a − 6h) were designed via hydrogen bonding, steric effect (for 4a − 4k) and ring ...

Mitophagy and Ubiquitination Coordinate Context‐Specific Mitochondrial Quality Control and EMT/MET Plasticity to Drive Cancer Cell Invasion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 16, 18 March 2026.
Metastatic invasion emerges when tumor‐intrinsic programs and microenvironmental forces converge on mitochondrial quality control. A context‐stratified framework links mtROS, mtDNA integrity, mechanics and nutrient/oxygen cues to fission–fusion remodeling, mtUPR and mitophagy.

Development and systematic evaluation of triamine‐based functional deep eutectic solvents for efficient CO2 capture

open access: yesAIChE Journal, Volume 72, Issue 3, March 2026.
Abstract The development of advanced absorbents for effectively capturing carbon dioxide is crucial in mitigating greenhouse gas emissions. This study introduced a series of deep eutectic solvents (DESs) for CO2 capture and identified the most promising DESs with the stepwise screening method based on their absorption capacity, absorption rate, thermal

Mausolate Complexes of the Alkaline Earth Metals

open access: yesChemistryEurope, Volume 4, Issue 3, March 2026.
Reliable chelation of Ra2+ for radionuclide therapy has long been a challenge, and the capacious and rigid mausolate ligand may offer a promising approach. We describe herein mausolate complexes with the chemically similar Ba2+, and other group 2 dications, including the introduction of functionalized derivatives. The rapid uptake of alkaline earth (Ae)
