Synthesis and Recycling‐on‐Demand of Novel Bio‐Based Poly(Ester‐co‐Acetal)s Designed for Circularity

open access: yesMacromolecular Materials and Engineering, Volume 311, Issue 8, August 2026.
Fully bio‐based oligoesters with defined terminal groups are designed and synthesized utilizing solvent‐free melt polycondensation. An effective chain extension reaction transforms oligomers into semi‐crystalline poly(ester‐co‐acetal)s that can be hot‐pressed into foils.

Catechol‐Containing Poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline): Synthesis and Thermoresponsive Behavior in Aqueous Salt Solutions

open access: yesMacromolecular Rapid Communications, Volume 47, Issue 15, 4 August 2026.
Polymers carrying catechol groups are interesting mussel‐inspired materials for wet adhesion applications or metal ion complexation for wastewater treatment. Here, catechol‐containing poly(2‐isopropyl‐2‐oxazoline)s were synthesized via microwave‐assisted cationic (co)polymerization and examined with regard to their thermoresponsive LCST behavior in ...

Synthesis, structure and orange‐light emission of a zero‐dimensional antimony(III) halide with the 4,4′‐(ethane‐1,2‐diyl)dipyridin‐1‐ium cation

open access: yesActa Crystallographica Section C, Volume 82, Issue 8, Page 453-458, August 2026.
The hybrid halide [H2bpa][SbCl5] [H2bpa is 4,4′‐(ethane‐1,2‐diyl)dipyridin‐1‐ium] exhibits efficient orange emission centred at 600 nm with a photoluminescence quantum yield of 65.57%.Exploring orange‐light‐emitting lead‐free halides with high photoluminescence quantum yields (PLQYs) is a significant challenge in luminescent materials research. Herein,

Deep Eutectic Solvent‐Type Mixture as a Green Catalyst in the Solvent‐Free Cycloaddition of CO2 and Epoxides

open access: yesChemSusChem, Volume 19, Issue 14, 29 July 2026.
A green, metal‐free catalytic system based on a deep eutectic solvent‐type mixture of tetrabutylammonium iodide and levulinic acid enables the solvent‐free cycloaddition of carbon dioxide (CO2) to epoxides. Cooperative acid–nucleophile activation affords cyclic carbonates in up to 95% yield at atmospheric pressure using only 1.4 mol% of catalyst.

Late‐Stage Functionalization of Peptides on the Solid Phase

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie International Edition, Volume 65, Issue 31, 27 July 2026.
Peptide modifications are essential to control pharmacodynamic and pharmacokinetic properties of peptide drugs. Consequently, strategies that allow for efficient and rapid incorporation of non‐canonical modifications into peptides in parallel formats are highly sought after.
