Magnesiate-Utilized/Benzyne-Mediated Approach to Indenopyridones from 2-Pyridones: An Attempt To Synthesize the Indenopyridine Core of Haouamine.

Organic Letters, 2019
An efficient, short-staged synthesis of cis-fused indeno[2,1-b]- and indeno[1,2-c]pyridin-2-ones, starting from 2-pyridones, using magnesiates of type R3MgLi as nucleophilic and deprotonation agents, mediated by benzyne generated in situ, under optimized

A Mild Rhodium Catalyzed Direct Synthesis of Quinolones from Pyridones: Application in the Detection of Nitroaromatics.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
A rhodium catalyzed direct regioselective oxidative annulation by double C-H activation is described to synthesize highly substituted quinolones from pyridones. The reaction proceeds at mild conditions with broad scope and wide functional group tolerance.

Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed Site-Selective C-H Alkylation and Arylation of Pyridones Using Organoboron Reagents.

Organic Letters, 2016
In this study we developed a method for the pyridine-directed, rhodium-catalyzed, site-selective C-H alkylation and arylation of pyridones using commercially available trifluoroborate reagents.

Photoreactions of alkylated 2-pyridones

Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1985
Photoisomerisation and dimerisation reactions in solution have been studied with a series of alkylated 2- pyridones (1). The low quantum efficiencies for the photoisomerisation (0.01–0.07) are related to the short-lived singlet excited states (below 1 ns). The effects of temperature, solvent, and substrate concentration were also examined.

Phototoxicity and photogenotoxicity of nine pyridone derivatives

Mutation Research/Genetic Toxicology and Environmental Mutagenesis, 2003
Nine structurally related pyridone derivatives were assayed for photogenotoxicity and phototoxicity in the Ames test, the chromosomal aberration test in V79 cells and the neutral red uptake (NRU) test in 3T3 cells. All nine compounds absorb light to a comparable degree at wavelengths between 380 and 430 nm.

Rhodium-Catalyzed C6-Selective C-H Borylation of 2-Pyridones.

Organic Letters, 2016
A pyridine-directed, rhodium-catalyzed C6-selective C-H borylation of 2-pyridones with bis(pinacolato)diboron (pinB-Bpin) has been developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly under relatively mild conditions, and the corresponding C6-borylated 2-pyridones ...

Access to Isoquinolin‐1(2 H)‐ones and Pyridones by Cobalt‐Catalyzed Oxidative Annulation of Amides with Allenes

, 2017
A cobalt‐catalyzed oxidative annulation of amides with allenes to provide isoquinolin‐1(2 H)‐ones and pyridones was explored. The new catalytic reaction proceeded through aminoquinoline‐directed C−H activation followed by unusual regioselective insertion,

Nickel-Catalyzed Directed C6-Selective C-H Alkylation of 2-Pyridones with Dienes and Activated Alkenes.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
A pyridine-directed, C6-selective nickel-catalyzed ring-contracting C-H alkylation of 2-pyridones with 1,5-cyclooctadiene (cod) has been developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly under external-ligand-free conditions and is accelerated uniquely by a ...

Dimerization in the pyridone/hydroxypyridine tautomeric systems: relative stabilities of the dimers in the 2-pyridone/2-hydroxypyridine and in the 4-pyridone/4-hydroxypyridine systems

Journal of Molecular Structure: THEOCHEM, 1992
Abstract Three dimers created from the 2-pyridone/2-hydroxypyridine tautomers and four dimers created by the 4-pyridone/4-hydroxypyridine tautomers were described using ab initio self-consistent-field (SCF) calculation and the energies were corrected for the electron correlation contribution by using the second-order Moller-Plesset (MP2) perturbation

Iridium-Catalyzed Site-Selective C–H Borylation of 2-Pyridones

Synthesis, 2017
An iridium-catalyzed site-selective C–H borylation of 2-pyridones has been developed. The site selectivity is predominantly controlled by steric factors, and we can access C4, C5, and C6 C–H on the 2-pyridone ring by the judicious choice of ligand and ...
