Pyridones as Potential Antitumor Agents

Journal of Pharmaceutical Sciences, 1979
AbstractDurch Persulfat‐Oxidation wird das Hydroxypyridin (I) in das Pyridon (II) übergeführt, aus dem das Acetylderivat (III) hergestellt wird.

Rhodium(III)-Catalyzed C6-Selective Arylation of 2-Pyridones and Related Heterocycles Using Quinone Diazides: Syntheses of Heteroarylated Phenols.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2017
An efficient, direct C6-arylation of 2-pyridones has been successfully accomplished with quinone diazides under Rh(III)-catalyzed redox-neutral conditions. The optimized method is simple, mild, and highly regioselective with a broad substrate scope.

Manganese(I)-Catalyzed C-H 3,3-Difluoroallylation of Pyridones and Indoles.

Organic Letters, 2017
A novel and efficient C-H activation approach for the direct 3,3-difluoroallylation of 2-pyridones and indoles is herein reported using a manganese(I) complex as the catalyst.

DFT/B3-LYP study of the hydrogen-bonding cooperativity: application to (2-pyridone)2, 2-pyridone–H2O, 2-pyridone–CH3OH and 2-pyridone–CH3OCH3

Chemical Physics Letters, 2000
Abstract DFT/B3-LYP(6-31++G**) calculations are used to provide information on closed N – H ⋯ O H -bonded complexes, containing two hydrogen bonds. The studied model systems with two H-bonds are the 2-pyridone dimer, 2-pyridone–H2O and 2-pyridone–CH3OH.

Formal Gold- and Rhodium-Catalyzed Regiodivergent C-H Alkynylation of 2-Pyridones.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
Formal regiodivergent C-H alkynylation of 2-pyridones bearing different N-substituents has been realized under Au(I) and Rh(III) catalysis using a hypervalent iodine alkyne reagent.

Photoionization of 2-pyridone and 2-hydroxypyridine

Physical Chemistry Chemical Physics, 2010
We studied the photoionization of 2-pyridone and its tautomer, 2-hydroxypyridine by means of VUV synchrotron radiation coupled to a velocity map imaging electron/ion coincidence spectrometer. The photoionization efficiency (PIE) spectrum is composed of steps.

C6-Selective Direct Alkylation of Pyridones with Diazo Compounds under Rh(III)-Catalyzed Mild Conditions.

Journal of Organic Chemistry, 2016
A Rh(III)-catalyzed highly efficient C6-alkylation of 2-pyridones has been achieved successfully with α-diazo carbonyl compounds. The developed method is simple, mild, and highly regioselective with a broad range of substrate scope.

Metal-free regioselective direct thiolation of 2-pyridones.

Organic and biomolecular chemistry, 2019
A highly regioselective metal-free direct C-H thiolation of 2-pyridones with disulfides or thiols has been developed. A combination of persulfate and a commercially available halide source such as LiCl, NCS or I2 enables the successful direct ...

Ru(II)-Catalyzed C6-selective C–H amidation of 2-pyridones

, 2018
Ru(II)-Catalyzed C6 site-selective amidation of 2-pyridones with 1,4,2-dioxazol-5-ones has been developed. The reaction occurred with a low catalyst loading and broad substrate scope under mild conditions, affording desired products in up to 98% yields ...
