Photoreactions of alkylated 2-pyridones
Journal of the Chemical Society, Perkin Transactions 2, 1985Photoisomerisation and dimerisation reactions in solution have been studied with a series of alkylated 2- pyridones (1). The low quantum efficiencies for the photoisomerisation (0.01–0.07) are related to the short-lived singlet excited states (below 1 ns). The effects of temperature, solvent, and substrate concentration were also examined.

Rhodium-Catalyzed C6-Selective C-H Borylation of 2-Pyridones.
Organic Letters, 2016A pyridine-directed, rhodium-catalyzed C6-selective C-H borylation of 2-pyridones with bis(pinacolato)diboron (pinB-Bpin) has been developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly under relatively mild conditions, and the corresponding C6-borylated 2-pyridones ...

Abstract Three dimers created from the 2-pyridone/2-hydroxypyridine tautomers and four dimers created by the 4-pyridone/4-hydroxypyridine tautomers were described using ab initio self-consistent-field (SCF) calculation and the energies were corrected for the electron correlation contribution by using the second-order Moller-Plesset (MP2) perturbation

A pyridine-directed, C6-selective nickel-catalyzed ring-contracting C-H alkylation of 2-pyridones with 1,5-cyclooctadiene (cod) has been developed. The reaction proceeds smoothly under external-ligand-free conditions and is accelerated uniquely by a ...
